Micromax is taking the Indian Market by storm. First, they brought Yureka into the market and now they have suppressed Samsung sales in India and is going strong. Other competitors such as Xiaomi Mobiles has found its competitor in the form of Micromax smartphones.
Micromax has come up with tons of smartphones in the past including the Micromax Canvas XL A119 that is one of their best phablet in the market.
The first thing that you will notice about the smartphone is its 6 inch big screen that qualifies it for being the phablet. Also, the smartphone is one of the first Micromax phones with 6 inches of display. It also offers dual-SIM capabilities and is the only smartphone that can be grabbed for around 10,000 INR with such a big screen.
Let's dive deeper into the smartphone specifications.
Features and Specifications
A 1.3 Ghz quad-core processor powers the Micromax Canvas XL A119 with the support of 1 GB of RAM and Mali-400 Graphics. The specs of the phablet is impressive, but the RAM can be a bottleneck. The whole setup is run on MediaTek MT6582.
The phablet supports dual-SIm and comes with all the necessary accessories such as Warranty card, USB cable, Charger, earphone and user manual.
The great asset of the phablet is its screen. Still, it is not the best screen for any phablet phone out there. The screen resolution of the phablet is 960 x 540 and it supports qHD. The phablet is missing the gorilla glass protection with display type is TFT. The brightness and color density of the smartphone are mediocre, featuring 184 ppi density.

For such a large screen, a good battery is a necessity. The device offers 2450 mAH, Li-ion battery that is slightly less than what would be ideal. Connectivity options are top-notch and the device supports JellyBean OS.
Design and Quality
The design of Canvas XL A119 is good and offers great quality finish so that it feels premium. The display takes all the attention and the cameras are fixed on the back and the front. The front camera is coupled with speaker and couple of sensors. The power and volume rocker button are present on the left side of the smartphone.
Quality wise the smartphone is above average. The only backdraw is that it can be bulky for some uses, but keeping the fact that it is a phablet makes the whole deal balance each other out.
OS and Tech
The OS of Micromax Canvas XL A119 is JellyBeans, which is fast and powerful and offers tons of features. The drawback is that JellyBeans is outdates and two more iterations of andorid OS are out there, Kitkat and Lollipop. Though, it is not sure if one can update the OS to Kitkat, but there are chances that it can be done. More information can be found on the official Micromax website.
Tech-wise, the smartphone is advanced in many sections, including the processor and display. The camera is also above average and provides value to the user. The battery on the other side could have been better.
Camera and Multimedia
The camera of this mobile phone is decent. Like any other smartphone, the Micromax Canvas XL A119 offers two cameras; one at the front and other at the back. The main camera of the phablet is 8 MP with autofocus and flash, whereas the front camera is 5 MP, which supports selfies.
Multimedia capabilities of the smartphones are above par as it enables play of HD quality videos without any problem, whatsoever. It also supports major audio and video formats.

The battery of the Canvas XL A119 phablet is slighly low for such a huge screen at offer. But, they can opt to carry a power bank. Not a good sight for anyone!
The memory of the smartphone is decent as it offers 4 Gb of internal memory and upto 32 GB of epandable memory using the microSD slot.
