The phone bears a huge display of 5.0 inches with a standard resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. It is for that reason that some users term the XOLO Q1100 as a phablet. That in addition to a multi touch function makes it in line with the elite class of the modern day smartphone like Samsung Galaxy Grand 2. It has a primary camera of 8 MP and a front camera of 2 MP. Internal memory is 8 GB and is extendable to 32 GB. It has a ram of 1 GB and a quad core processor of 1.4 GHz. Starting with the dimensions, it has a length of 143.80 mm, the width of 70.80 mm and the thickness of 8.30 mm. A standard 3.5 mm audio jack at the top and a micro USB version 2.0 makes it convenient for the orthodox user to connect the charger or the USB data cable and simultaneously enjoy non stop music via the earphones.
Unlike most of the other models, a chrome strip doesn’t run at the edges.
OS & Tech:
The Operating System is an Android Jellybean Version 4.3, with an interface that is as user friendly as it gets. It can be upgraded but the reviews suggest that it’s better off with the current OS. What makes it more relatable to the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 is the Quad Core Snapdragon processor of 1.4 GHz. The RAM provided is 1 GB
Camera & Multimedia:
With the front camera of 2 Mega Pixels and a rear camera of 8 Mega pixels, you can record an HD video, along with a rear LED flash. Battery & Memory:
The 2000 mAh battery gives you a talk time of up to 24 hours on 2G and 12 hours 30 mins on 3G while an extensive standby time of 600 hours on 2G and 450 hours on 3G. The internal memory of the device is 8 GB but is extendable up to 32 GB with a micro SD card, the slot of which is next to the Dual SIM slots under the back cover
Facilities like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS are a given.
Pros & Cons:
Pros:
- For starters, it’s way cheaper than the other smart phones of its category.
- The huge display is another luxury you don’t find in every other phone.
- The amazing battery time’s a big plus too.
- 8 GB memory is respectable but the extendable feature is a great advantage too.
- The general outward look of the phone is fascinating.
Cons:
- RAM of mere 1 GB is not the best of the decisions.
- The display is too shiny and reflective and it leaves finger print marks all over it.
- The automatic brightness function is inefficient too as you will practically see nothing on the screen in the sun if you have the auto brightness mode on.
Verdict:
Our suggestion regarding the phone is that if you are a rugged outside person who prefers nature or sports or your profession focuses on field work, you should not buy this because, the problem with the reflective screen and the auto brightness issue may be a source of extreme paranoia for you. But if your life is mostly spent inside your house or the office, this is one of the best choices. For females, this is strongly recommended.
