Lenovo A859 Mobile Price in India
Line products from Lenovo are normally low-end products but this doesn’t mean they are low in specifications. Low here means in the price range. The phone has decent specifications which could be helpful in giving this phone a good market space. Though the efforts Lenovo has put in A859 are not of high standards but the company has been satisfactorily successful enough to attract many buyers. The OS this device has is Android v4.2 Jelly Beans and the company doesn’t provide any update to KitKat even then the old OS performs fair enough to meet users requirements in a decent way.
Features and Specifications
The weight of the Lenovo A859 is 163.3g which makes it considerable heavy set. The display is large of 5inch having 16M colors and a full capacitive touchscreen. It has 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage which can be enhanced to 32GB using microSD card. The device comes with two cameras as the rear camera is of 8MP with flash light and auto focus feature while the front camera is 1.6MP and serves good for fallacies. The OS here is Android v4.2 Jelly Beans which is though old but gives nice performance with little lags. The processor is 1.3GHz quad-core and the battery life here is 2250mAh. Many connectivity features are also added to this version including EDGE, GPRS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB and 2G/3G.
Design and Quality
The device is a complete touch bar having black bezel and a white back. It is made up of glossy plastic and prone to fingerprints mainly on screen. The power button is on the top right in the center and this may make inconvenient to reach it. Volume rocker is on the right side of the phone towards bottom end and the 3.5 connector along with microUSB are located at the top of the phone. The quality of assembly is nice but the back cover requires little effort to get opened for the first time. The front panel has the front facing 1.6MP camera along with indicator light and light sensor. Physical keys are replaced with 3 touch buttons. Under the back cover, there is battery, two SIM card slots and SIM card connector.
OS and Tech
OS is Android v4.2 Jelly Beans which is not upgradable to higher versions like KitKat and this is the drawback of mid-range smartphone. There is even no hope that the OS will be upgraded to android v4.3 or v4.4 but Lenovo only sends patches in order to improve the performance of the device. This OS even performs smoothly but at times the performance lags is also observed which may sometimes irritate users.
Camera and Multimedia
Thought the rear camera is of 8MP but its resolution seems to be that of 5MP. The quality of the pictures taken by this camera is below average. People who prefer smartphone with good camera features may not like this model. Since the price of the phone is cheap so in this price range most of the smartphones have similar camera performance. The video recording can also be done with it but it has the same poor quality and shaky visuals. The front camera though is better for video calls.
Battery and Memory
As per the company the 2250mAh battery is capable enough to give 11.5 days’ standby time and 10hrs of talk time. During testing, the battery was capable to stand for 2 days under moderate use. Even under heavy use, this battery stands for one whole day which is a good performance from the battery of a mediocre phone. For heavy smartphone users who prefer whole day heavy use of mobile, for them this set may provide only 8hrs of battery life. Whole charging of the battery takes 2hrs. The RAM is 1GB which is limited but good for a mediocre phone like Lenovo A859 and the internal memory is 8GB which is extendable further up to 32GB. Internal memory is limited as apps get installed on internal storage.
Pros and Cons
For pros:
· Good design
· Good performing battery
· Extendable memory
· Low price
For cons:
· Low quality built material
· Poor performing camera
· Old OS
· Low RAM and internal storage
Verdict
The ringer volume and vibration effect are impressive for the Lenovo A859. Though the design is nice but the quality of performance is not up to the mark. The screen provides full HD resolution which is the plus point of the phone. The camera is completely a disaster. Lenovo A859 needs improvement in various domains like camera, build material, internal storage and camera. User may find better devices under mid-range smartphones who offer better performance.
