Adcom Thunder A680 Mobile Price in India
ADCOM manufactures many types of tech products and one of those types is the mobile phone. Its Adcom Thunder A680 is a dual sim phablet that caters to the low spec market. It has a very big display measuring at around 6.5 inches with 800 x 480 pixel resolution and capacitive touch. The handset supports both 2G and 3G networks plus comes in only white color. With a 2500mAh to power the phone it also has a 2MP rear camera (front VGA camera) that can take photos and videos. It runs on Android OS Jelly Bean with a Dual Core processor and 512MG of RAM.
Features and Specifications
The 6.5 inch display is capacitive touch and has an 800 x 480 pixel resolution. It uses WVGA display technology and offers multi-touch as well. The phablet is powered by a 1.2GHz dual core processor with a 512MB RAM to support it. The camera is a very low 2MP and can be used to takes images and videos while the front camera is VGA being used mostly for images and video calling. It uses Android Jelly Bean v4.2 as its OS and offers good multitasking features. It also has a special face detection security lock feature along with WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth connectivity.
Design and Quality
The Adcom Thunder A680 comes in only white color and uses sturdy plastic type material for its body. The edges are rounded giving it a soap bar like shape but the bezels are very large. The large bezels takes away from the beauty of any mobile or phablet and the same can be said here. There are no touch buttons on the front of the phablet as the return, home and recents touch keys are found on screen so the large bezels look very unnecessary and increase the size of the phablet. The camera and loud speaker are found at the back of the phablet while the front camera is located the top front area.
OS and Tech
Android OS v4.2 Jelly Bean is installed as the phablet’s OS and it has great multitasking functions. The 512MB RAM even though less is enough for the OS to work fine. Using Google Play Store the user can download many apps and games to make their experience much better. The Adcom Thunder A680 uses a 1.2GHz Dualcore processor and 512MB of RAM to power it. Connectivity features include Bluetooth, WiFi, USB, GPS and 3G internet.
Camera and Multimedia
The main camera on the phablet is just 2MP and not very high quality images and videos can be captured from it. There is amazingly no LED flash so night time and/or low light photography is impossible. Multimedia wise the phablet has support for MP3 playback and supports WAV format as well. The user can also play videos as the phablet has support for MP4, RMVB, 3GP and AVI video formats. Both these features can be enjoyed using the handsfree that comes in the box or the phablet’s loudspeaker.
Battery and Memory
The battery is 2500mAh but no information is available about the phablet’s battery life regarding talk time or standby. 2500mAh for a 6.5inch screen phablet running dual cores is not a good amount according to higher battery capacity phablets in the market and you can be expected to charge it twice daily if you use the device frequently. The internal memory is 4GB and comes with an option to increase storage using the MicroSD slot.
Pros and Cons
For Pros:
· Big Screen
· 3G support
· Dual Sim
· MicroSD support
For Cons:
· Low Resolution Screen
· Low Quality Camera
· No Camera Flash
· Low RAM
Verdict
The phablet is big compared to others on the market and not very sleek in design. The bezels are big as well and the color choice is limited to just white. The multitasking abilities will be slowed down by low amount of RAM and the battery might not hold up. The only saving grace of this phablet is that its rivals XOLO Play Tegra Note and Lemon P100 Note cost much more than the Adcom Thunder A680. For users who want a low frills tablet at low cost; this is the one they need to buy. For others looking for a more powerful experience they would do well to look elsewhere.
