The RAM is 1GB and the internal storage is limited to 16GB which cannot be further extended. The back camera is 13MP having autofocus, Geo-tagging, rotating lens, touch focus, face/smile detection and panorama features. The LED flash is also provided with the back camera. There is no front facing camera in this set. The OS run on it is Android v4.2.2 jelly Beans and the set is powered by 1.7GHz Octa-core processor. The battery is non-removable 2200mAh.The connectivity features provided here include 2G/3G, GPRS, EDGE,, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi- and microUSB. The set offers two SIMs capacities.

Design and Quality

The phone has a good quality and nice finish. The phone is overall made up of plastic but its quality is very good. The matter finish gives premium look to the device. The phone is a rectangular bar having rounded edges. The front panel is made up of glass and gives nice impression. The front panel offers 4.7inch screen along with navigation buttons. At the right edge, there are volume rockers and the power button. The 3.5mm headset jack and the microUSB port reside at the bottom. The left side has the MicroSIM tray having two MicroSIM cards slot. The swivel camera resides at the top of the display where also the earpiece resides. The swivel camera can also be adjusted in order to bring the camera lens in front. The phone sets well in hand and the back is slightly curved providing fine grip.

OS and Tech

Gionee ElifeE7 Mini has heavily customized build of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Beans also known as Amigo 2.0 which is the second version of UI. Since the OS is old enough so some flaws have been observed in the overall performance of the phone. Gionee doesn’t offer Gadgets and many Android user love them as they offer information in a single glance.

Camera and Multimedia

The phone has only single camera of 13MP mounted on rotating swivel. The same lens can also be used as the front camera. Though no separate front camera is provided but the single camera works as both front and rear camera and gives perfect performance for video calls. The camera doesn’t though provide professional performance. The daylight performance of the camera is extremely good having perfect color reproduction along with good depth of details. The camera is also capable of taking good quality selfies but its quality also gets affected when the condition of light gets poor. The phone is capable of recording high quality full HD video. But those videos then can’t be played in full HD mode as the screen doesn’t support full HD.

Battery and Memory

The battery provided here is 2200mAh which can easily offer standby time of 200hrs and the 18hrs of talk time. This much battery is fair enough to stand for the whole day while under heavy use, this much battery is then not enough to last for even the half day. The RAM is limited here of 1GB while the internal storage is also limited to 16GB and this is the only memory provided without any extension.

Elife E7 Mini is a nice phone from Gionee offering good and premium design, excellent display, acceptable performance and nicely rotating camera. Considering these exceptional features, the price set for the phone is justified as one cannot get the rotating camera within this much price range. Since the company is new in market so it is yet striving hard for its products to stand firmly in the market but it is expanding fast worldwide with more people praising its products. There are other better mid-range smartphone options also available in market which is giving good competition to this one and the investment should be made after comparing the features and performance of all.
