Alcatel OneTouch Star 6010D Mobile Price List in India

Alcatel OneTouch is a company based in Hong Kong and it is a brand within a parent company called TCL Communication. They have entered the Indian market to sell low-end and mid-range phones. The Star 6010D is their attempt to invite buyers in the low-end smartphone market by providing some good features at a low price obviously. It comes with a lot of features that match the market standards and also has good looks. This phone is sure to rival other existing phones like Moto E (1^st Gen), or Intex Aqua 3G+.

Features and Specifications

The Star 6010D is a medium sized 4 inch smartphone running the Jelly Bean version of Android. It is a Dual SI phone with both SIM having Support for 3G net connectivity and thus are both GSM supported SIM slots. It comes with a 5 MP primary camera and a VGA secondary front camera. It also has a decent internal memory of 4 GB which is expandable and also has a 512 MB RAM. The phone is powered by a Dual core processor clocking at 1 GHz and also has a PowerVr GPU. It comes with a 1500 mAh battery which is pretty standard for phones in this range. This phone is very light weighing just 119.5 grams.

Design and Quality

This phone has a nice rectangular design, but it is not sleek. It looks like the Samsung phones such as the Galaxy Grand Quattro or the Galaxy S Duos. It comes in black and white variant and also has many options for back cases officially released by the company. The font display has corning Gorilla Glass with Oleophobic coating which makes the display strong and resistant to scratches and damages. The loud speaker is located at the top left corner of the phone with the camera to its right and the flash being located to the right of the camera. Both the volume rockers and the power buttons are located on the left panel of the phone. It has 3 capacitive buttons at the bottom of the display. These are for back, home and multi-tasking windows respectively.

OS and Tech

The Star runs the Android version 4.2 which is Jelly Bean. It isn’t the latest version but it sure is good. This is stock android OS. The phone comes with a few apps such as torch and games pre-installed. Apart from Proximity sensors and Light sensors, it does not have any other sensor which is a big disappointment as many apps will not run smoothly without the basic sensors such as the G-Sensors.

Camera and Multimedia

This phone comes with a 5MP primary camera which takes good pictures in day light conditions and takes average pictures under low light conditions even with the flash. It can do video recording at decent quality. It also has a secondary VGA camera which is very bad for taking selfies. However, it can be useful while video calling. The Display has a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels (233 ppi) which gives a very dense and compact display of images which is good. This display is capable of displaying 16 M colours. The phone has support for a variety of multimedia files for audio and video and comes with pre-installed players to play those files.

Battery and Memory

This phone comes with a 1500 mAh battery which gives a decent backup for the phone. It has a standby time of 255 hours on 2G and 280 hours on 3G. On very heavy usage the battery might seem to be insufficient. This phone has an internal memory of 4 GB which is less for storing aps and games. But the external memory can be expanded up to 32 GB using Micro-SD cards. The phone has a RAM of 512 MB which is less for intensive usage but good enough for basic usage.

Verdict

This phone has some good features such as the display quality and powerful processors which make it an ideal low-end phone to buy. But the features such as low RAM and poor VA secondary camera might lead to some of the buyers opting for another phone. If your usage is low or moderate then this phone will not disappoint you.
