Features and Specifications

Due to large size screen, the phone is heavy weighing 172g. The screen is true IPS and LCD capacitive touchscreen along with providing 16M colors. It also provides multi-touch and the screen is guarded with Corning gorilla Glass 3 and LG’s own Optimus UI. The RAM is 3GB which is awesome and the internal storage comes in two ranges 16/32GB both of which can be extended up to 64GB and this is another marvelous feature. The back camera is 13MP that comes with different features like autofocus, optical image stabilization, LED flash, Geo-tagging, face detection, HDR and Panorama. The front camera gets lower here and comes in 2.1MP. The OS is latest Android v4.4.2 KitKat and the processor is also powerful one i.e. 2.26GHz quad-core. The battery it offers is 3200mAh which is another mind blowing invention. The connectivity features here include Bluetooth, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi, microUSB and 2G/3G/4G. The SIM size it accepts is micro.

Design and Quality

The 5.9 inch large screen makes it had for the phone to be carried in tight jeans pockets and to be handled with single hand. Though the screen is large but the slim bezels of the device manages to keep the overall width to 81.9 mm which helps in operating the device in single hand by majority of the users. The LG’s protective UI avoid finger prints on the large screen. The look of the device is very nice. LG has not used any material for its construction but this has not been highlighted throughout the design. . The front of the device sees narrow bezels all around. The back of the phone is plastic in nature. The power and volume buttons are placed at the rear which had been borrowed from G2. The bezels sparks which is due to the glitter like paint and this has been called as gem by LG. This paint is more featured in black and silver models of the set but it is not present of the white model. The back cover is polycarbonate mate finish giving more of plastic look. The back of the phone is completely flat and the edges are perfectly curved. Under the back cover, there exists 3200mAh battery along with double decker slot for MicroSIM at the bottom while the microSD card at the top.

OS and Tech

The LG G Pro2 is equipped with Android v4.4.2 KitKat OS which is the latest version of OS. The phone also comes with LG UI. The OS does a perfect job of multitasking and switching among multiple apps in rapid succession. This is a software pattern protected phone from LG. The double tapping of the phone will result in locking the screen and unlocking will be done by unlocking a specific pattern.

Camera and Multimedia

There have been considerable improvements in LG’s camera in terms of its performance and specifically features. The camera though doesn’t offer a dedicated night mode but few other features are added to give smooth functioning of the camera under low light like Natural Flash. The LED light normally doesn’t function as it has been expected of it but using Natural Flash, the camera is then able to take two pictures at the same time. LED light in Pro2 does excellent job. The picture quality is outstanding here. The front camera is limited to 2.1MP which does bring little trouble under low light video chats. The video recording feature here is also excellent and the videos generated by it are of high quality.

Battery and Memory

The 3200mAh battery is enough to stand for the whole day even under heavy use. But it has to be kept in mind that heavy gaming and high-definition video recording reduce the battery to some extent but the battery life overall is outstanding. The RAM is again extraordinary of 3GB and the internal storage it offers is 16/32GB which can be extended both to 64GB. This much battery is enough to install as many apps as one wants.

Verdict

The build quality of LG G Pro 2 is excellent along with other features like good battery life and the powerful processor and RAM is perfectly shouldered by the OS. Pro 2 gives a good competition to all smartphone available in market. This phone due to its performance and features is not considered under mid-range smartphone rather it is the best and fully developed phone in every aspect.
