Lenovo S860 Mobile Price in India
The recently launched Lenovo S860 is basically the eldest brother of S-series smartphone from Lenovo. The most stunning point of this smartphone is largest battery life of 4000mAh. This much battery not only allows talk time of 24hrs but also help in charging other devices using microUSB port. The back of the phone is made up of blushed aluminum that beautifully surrounds the rear camera, LED flash and the Lenovo Logo. Lenovo this time actually stood for its claims and this smartphone serves the functionality it was designed for it.
Features and Specifications
The phone is quite heavy and weighs 190g. The screen is also big here of 5.3-inch using completes IPS LCD Capacitive Touchscreen technology and offers 16M colors. The screen is multi-touch capable up to 5 fingers. The RAM is of 2GB and the internal storage is 16GB which cannot be further extended and this may be a weak point for the device to some extent. The back camera is of 8MP having many features like Geo-tagging, autofocus, touch focus, HDR, face detection along with the LED flash. The front camera is of 1.6MP and works fine for fallacies. The OS being operated here is Android v4.2 Jelly Beans which is upgradable to Android v4.4.2 KitKat. The processor here is 1.3GHz quad core and the most stunning part is the battery. The phone comes up with 4000mAh which is non-removable. The connectivity features include GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 2G/3G.
Design and Quality
The screen of the phone is large 5.3inch and is broad at three inches which may make it tough for some people to handle it with single hand. Having 190g, the phone is really troublesome to carry in pocket. The back of the device is blushed aluminium while on the edges there are silver curves giving it a professional look. The back cover is non-removable so battery cannot be removed. On the top right edge are placed the power and the volume buttons. The back button is towards bottom right. The overall look of the phone is big, sturdy and impressive.
OS and Tech
Lenovo S860 comes up with Android v4.2 Jelly Beans which can be upgraded to Android v4.4.2 KitKat. This extension is interesting from the Lenovo as the KitKat is the latest OS for the smartphone and this makes the performance and the multitasking go smoothly. It can decently accommodate all the latest apps of Android showing no performance degradation.
Camera and Multimedia
The camera needs more attention from the company. The 8MP back camera is overwhelming and gives good picture quality outdoors but the zooming factor is very poor making far away pictures blurred. The color quality of the pictures though is nice. The depth of the camera capturing capability is nice so one need not to stand too far away to capture group shots. Phone is also smart in capturing pictures. The indoor shots are rather dull and feel washed out. The shots under low light are very disappointing. The front camera is mediocre though it offers few features like Smart Lighting in order to brighten the image and a timer. The video recording is equally not very interesting here.
Battery and Memory
Lenovo did a fantastic job in battery department. The battery comes here is 4000mAh which has been claimed by the company to offer 43hrs of talk time and can last for 40 days on standby but this has yet to be tested. The phone lasts for more than 3 days under heavy use like voice calls, internet browsing on Wi-Fi, video gaming and music playing. The drawback of large batteries is that they take longer time to get fully charged and this battery also takes 4hrs to be completely charged. The RAM is 2GB here which is fine but the internal memory has been restricted to 16GB without providing further extension and this may bring little disappointment for the users.
Pros and Cons
For pros:
· Large screen
· Excellent battery life
· Good sound quality
· Perfect design
· Latest OS support
For cons:
· Headphones are poor
· Heavy in carrying
· Poor camera
· Limited memory
· Non-removable battery
Verdict
The battery life is more than what was expected from Lenovo but the rest of the features easily overshadow this plus point. The phone is too large and heavy along with low performing camera, low processor, and average screen quality event the performance of the phone is not that great. Only one attribute cannot make a device successful rather there should be mix of pluses. When there are phone offering better features at affordable prices. These things need to be considered before buying it.
