Features and Specifications

Micromax Bolt A69 is 4.5 inch device which can easily fit in even small hands. The display is TFT with a color depth of 262k and a screen resolution of 480*854 that results in brighter photos. The device comes with Android Jellybean 4.2.2 which is somewhat old OS. The phones come with a 1 GHz dual core processor coupled with 512MB RAM which looks to be a minus point in device. The device comes with 4 gigs of internal memory so you have to choose your applications and games selectively. However it is expandable by a micro SD 32GB card. The phone comes with wireless capabilities like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0. However, GPS is missing. The phone has a 5MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front camera with flash. There is total 1800 mAh battery which seems to be low. The phone can play all available audio and video formats.

Design and Quality

Bolt A69 is built sturdy. The device is available in two colors white and black. The phone comes with curved metallic edges and borders. On front device has a 0.3MP camera with Micromax branding with ear-piece. The power button is available at left side and volume rockers at right. The back of phone has a usual Micromax branding   at center and rear camera above it. The flash of phone is located at left to the camera. Phone speaker is also located at the top. The phone made is cheap plastic which doesn't impress us. A 3.5 mm headphone jack and a USB charging ports are both located at top of phone.

OS and Tech

The phone is packed with Android Jellybean 4.2.2 which must be upgraded. The jellybean performance smooth in the device. The phone chipset is a 1 GHz Dual-core which can't do heavy work. In our tests also phone seems to suffer due to it’s chip-set. But still the phone manages to perform according to its price.

Camera and Multimedia

The phone camera is 5MP shooter and a 0.3 front shooter. The rear camera has also a LED flash to help taking pictures in low lighting. The camera gives some best shots. However, it seems to struggle some times. The multimedia also performs well. The loudspeaker do gives us well audio output. Bolt A69 supports all universal video formats including .3gp, .mp4, .avi. The audio formats supported mp3, mid, aac, wav, amr. But, the FM feature is lacking in device.

Battery and Memory

On battery side phone got an 1800 mAh battery which delivers 7 hours of talk time and 350 hours on standby. So, battery side is one drawback in device. On storage side phone got a 1GB RAM and 4GB internal storage. The internal storage seems to be limited so you've to start deleting useless stuff or start using external memory card which you can use up to 32 GB.

Verdict

In our tests Bolt A69 doesn't do well. However there were some of sectors where smartphone out-beaten even high end smartphones. Also Bolt A69 performs according to its price. We recommend Bolt A69 for small budget users. If you've small budget go for the phone it is going to impress you also.
