Huawei Ascend G6 Mobile Price in India
The Chinese company Huawei is back in market with its mid-range flagship Ascend G6 having few ye catching features. The main feature is that it offers 4G connectivity compatibility within the set and this has been very recently observed in handsets so this could be a good attractive feature for this set. The second eye catching feature is the enhanced version of front camera and this time Huawei offers 5MP front camera for better performance for the video calls. So people who are more concerned about better internet connections and the better quality of video calls, this phone is rightly for them.
Features and Specifications
The phone is light weight weighing 115g. The screen is large enough of 4.5-inch having IPS capacitive touchscreen technology and 16M colors. The RAM here is 1GB which may result in some problems in performance while the internal storage is 8GB which is again limited but it can be easily extended to 32GB using microSD card. The back camera is of 8MP along with LED flash and autofocus feature while the front camera is 5MP for selfies. The OS it runs on is Android v4.3 Jelly Beans which is rather old OS and the phone is powered by 1.2GHz Quad core processor. The battery here is limited to 2000mAh and the connectivity features provided here include 2G/3G/4G, GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth and microUSB.
Design and Quality
The design of the phone is smart. Along the sides of the phone there is faux metal chassis. The 4.5-inch screen is bordered by sizeable bezel which is quite noticeable at the bottom having a plastic lip projecting below the Android navigation keys. This lip is also having little fingernail slot for removing the plastic back cover. Under the back cover, there are places for MicroSIM along with microSD card and the non-removable battery. The size of the phone is good to be handled with single hand. The right hand side sees the volume rocker keys and the power button. The microUSB port is located at the top of the set and the 3.5mm headphone jack is placed at the bottom along the left hand side of the chassis. A little speaker is designed in the bottom left at the very rear of the phone and the camera along with flash is located above it. Though these placements are little new so their use may require individual to learn them slowly until memorize them all.
OS and Tech
The OS it runs on is Android v4.3 Jelly Beans which is little drawback on part of the phone along with limited RAM and processor. Huawei has its own interface over the OS which has been found in its previous version Ascend P6 known as Emotion UI which means that there is no app drawer available here rather Emotion UI re-creates the iOS experience itself by placing all important apps on the home screen. Though Emotion UI does its job very well but the limitations of the old OS is visible in performance.
Camera and Multimedia
The back camera has handful of modes to play with including Smart, Normal, Panorama, HDR, and Sound & Shot along with the feature for adding filters. It also offers more advanced settings which allows for the tracking of objects to be focused in single frame along with many others like voice activation shooting, adjusting ISO sensitivity and adjusting responsiveness to light. The picture quality generated by the 8MP camera is good but not realistic. The autofocus feature is also slow to function. Results are good if the mode is changed from Normal to HDR. The flash light helps a great deal while shooting in low light. Close up shots could be troublesome due to the slow functioning of the autofocus feature. For the front camera, more pixels have been added to give it exclusive performance. For video recording, one can easily record at maximum of 1080p in full HD which has beaten its competitors.
Battery and Memory
The battery here comes is 2000mAh which is non-removable. Under normal conditions this much battery can last for 2 days. This much battery last for good 8hours for the heavy videos. It requires about 3 hours to get it recharged completely. But it has to be bear in mind that there is no power saving modes available on the set which is a strong point for the mid-range smartphone. The internal memory it has is 8GB which is extended easily up to 32GB using the microSD card. The 4GB of internal storage has been eaten up by the OS and other apps and 4GB is available for the user.
Pros and Cons
For pros:
· Best performing front camera
· Good battery life
· Good built
· Fastest 4G internet connection
For cons:
· Mid-range features which may not be good value for money
· Headphone jack placement may be awkward
Verdict
Huawei Ascend G6 is a good offer in terms of design but the unrealistic usability issues may let down this invention from Huawei. Comparing it with its rivals in the market, there are many good mid-range handsets already available in market which can provide better features along with 4G and thus gives good return on investment so one has to think the capacity of this set before investing in it.
