Huawei Honor 3C

Huawei Honor 3C Mobile Price in India
Huawei is back with a budget friendly phone known as Honor 3C. This is the first handset from Huawei having quad-core processor along with 5-inch large screen and thus it is considered as a phablet for the large screen. Having affordable price, this handset seems very attractive along with good specifications but this claim of Huawei is yet to be proved if it is price efficient phone or not.
Features and Specifications
The weight of the phone is 140g along with 5-inch large screen which has IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen technology with 16M colors. The RAM here has been increased to 2GB and the internal storage provided is 8GB which can easily be extended further up to 32GB using microSD card. The back camera has 8MP capacity along with auto-focusing feature and LED flash while the front camera is again heavy here of 5MP for fallacies. The OS it runs on is Android v4.4.2 Jelly Beans which is an old OS and it has to be upgraded to Android v4.4.2 KitKat but it has not so far but Huawei runs its own Emotion Lite UI above it. The processor which gives it power is 1.3GHz quad-core. It is available in black and white colors and the connectivity features it includes are GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth, microUSD, and 2G/3G. The battery life it provides is 2300mAh and has dual SIM support.
Design and Quality
The design of the Huawei Honor 3C is very common and nothing new has been observed about it. It has a flat rectangular design having curved corners. The physical touch sensitive buttons are located at the bottom of the 5-inch large screen. The viewing angles of the screen are pretty good. The build material is glossy plastic attracting fingerprints easily. This brings negative point for the phone. The volume rocker and the power button are placed at the right side of the phone which are easily accessible with single finger or thumb. The speaker is found at the back very near to the bottom and the back camera is located at the rear towards right along with LED flash.
OS and Tech
The OS provided here is Android v4.4.2 jelly Beans along with Emotion Lite UI over the top. The Emotion UI places all the apps on the home screen instead of providing an app drawer. This is though a better approach when the original OS is of old version though it provides a better mix of multitasking. With mid-range processor, the performance of the phone is mid-range as well. There are times when one can feel the sluggishness of the performance and this is due to the limitations in processor and the OS.
Camera and Multimedia
The back camera of the phone is 8MP and the front is 5MP which gives the illusion that the phone will be a perfect shooter but actually this isn’t the case. With the back camera there has been performance gaps observed. The day light performance is good but under low light noise is observed in pictures. The front camera does its job very well for the video calls. The video recording feature of the phone is better than the still images. Overall the entire back camera is mediocre in performance.
Battery and Memory
The 2300mAh battery life is considered good for this phone. Under normal use, this much battery can easily last for the whole day even under intensive internet use and video calls, the battery utilized was observed only 30% which means this is not the energy eating set which is a good point. The RAM here is good enough i.e. 2GB and the internal storage is 8GB which is large enough to hold all Android apps and it can also be extended to 32GB using microSD card.
Pros and Cons
For pros:
· Good build material
· Good battery
· Large memory and RAM
· Excellent front camera
For Cons:
· Low processor
· Old OS
· Back camera is mediocre
Verdict
Though Huawei has done a remarkable job of beautiful combination of hardware and software in a mid-range phone like Huawei Honor 3C, but the features it offers are not new. The display screen, the font camera, the battery life are the prominent features of this set while the processor and the OS are the weak points of the set. The phone comes in affordable price so the features provided well suits the price offered. The overall rating of the set is average as it has been to all other mid-range smartphone. If the OS has been replaced with the new version of KitKat, the phone would be the best choice for the mobile lovers.
