Features and Specifications

The phone is slim and lighter weighing only 128g. The display is larger but it cannot be considered under phablet category as the size of the screen is 4.5-inch giving pixels density of 207p.The screen technology is IPS LCD utilizing more than 16M colors. The back camera is of 5MP along with LED flash and geo tapping feature and the front camera is 0.3MP used for video calls and fallacies. The processor which gives power to the set is 1.2GHz Snapdragon along with 1024MB of RAM. The internal storage is limited to 4GB which can be enhanced to 32GB by the use of microSD card slot. The battery capacity is 2440mAh. The OS which it runs on is Android v4.4 KitKat along with LG’s own custom interface above it.

Design and Quality

The design is very normal and nothing unusual has been observed in it. The power button though is located on the right hand side and the volume rocker at the left hand side and both can be easily reachable. It is a lightweight phone and is made up of plastic which gives it a sturdy feel. The back cover provides little grip so user need to make sure the phone is held tight or it may get slipped easily. The edges are rounded which looks nice in hand. Though the design is very normal but the main selling point of this phone is the fastest 4G connectivity feature.

OS and Tech

Android v4.4.2 KitKat has been used in LG F70 which is the latest Android OS but LG also offers its own interface over the OS and beautifully blends its own interface with the OS and hence also provided the Knockcode which is a security function and specialty of LG. This allows waking up the phone and locking it by tapping out on a particular pattern displayed.

Camera and Multimedia

The camera performance is not up to the mark as was expected from LG. The back camera has limited capacity of 5MP though it has been given full support of LED light and geo tapping feature. But the camera even under normal light doesn’t perform very well. The video recording though is somewhat acceptable. The front camera has also gone down in capacity and performance as well. One can easily observed delays in video chats due to camera limitations. That doesn’t mean that the camera performance overall is of low quality but it doesn’t compete other sets having enhanced camera capabilities. This can be a drawback in the set.

Battery and Memory

The battery life is he 2440mAh which is limited though but looking at the features and specifications of the phone, this much battery suits the phone quite well though it doesn’t support heavy use of the mobile. The battery under moderate use can provide 12hrs of talk time and 620hrs of standby time. The internal memory has gone reduced too here. The internal storage is 4GB which may not fully allow installing many apps on the internal storage but the memory can be further extended up to 32GB as microSD card slot has been provided with it.

Verdict

LG F70 is one of the cheapest handsets in market proving fastest 4G connectivity. Though the RAM is very low and the screen resolution is limited which means this phone is not at all a superb set but the provisioning of latest Android v4.4.2 KitKat OS, the set has really brought in some twist and good taste for the phone. But the fact one has to consider before buying this set is that the prices of 4G enabled handsets are increasingly falling in the market, so it is better to look for 4G set having better features and specification than is offered by LG F70 at somewhat near the price range as this has been offered.
