Panasonic Eluga U Mobile Price in India
Panasonic recently launched its new smartphone Eluga U in market. The phone is costly and the hardware it has been built on is similar as few of its competitors like Moto G and Asus Zenfone 5. Eluga U is the first smartphone in this range. The effort of Panasonic is visible how it has tried to make this phone a premium set. This is a slim phone with textured glass back and this brings a real style for the phone.
Features and Specifications
This Dual SIM phone has a large display of 5-inch (720 x 1280) and is powered by 1.2 GHz Quad-core processor which is powerful Snapdragon 400. The RAM here is 2GB and the internal storage is lifted high up to 16GB which can further be extended up to 32 GB using microSD card slot. It has two cameras - A 13MP rear camera and a front camera of 2MP. The connectivity features it brings along include Wi-Fi, 3G and Bluetooth. It runs on Android v4.4 OS and the battery life is 2500mAh.
Design and Quality
The phone is light enough weighing 141g. The slab design makes it resemble to other android phone in market. The corners are rounded. The design is not unique and seems like more of Google Nexus 4 having a glass back with textured pattern. It is claimed by the Panasonic that the back glass is shatter and scratch proof. The navigation keys are placed at the bottom of the 5inch screen and the front camera is located above the screen. The power button and volume rocker is located at the right side. The power button is quite large which makes it quite irritable. The left side has SIM card slot under flip cover along with microSD card slot. The 3.5mm headset jack is at the top of the phone and the microUSB port is at the bottom. The look of the phone is much better than previous versions of Panasonic smartphone.
OS and Tech
The phone runs by the Android v4.4.2 KitKat which is powerful enough to control android apps. Panasonic has introduced its own user interface known as the FitHome User Interface. This interface allows user to access all installed apps from home screen. It may allow user to switch to normal OS mode.
Camera and Multimedia
The phone has 13MP rear and 2MP front camera. The rear camera is little modified in this set and allows user to have granular settings. The problem in this case with the camera is the lagging in shutter action. A considerable amount of lag has been observed between pressing the button and the actual capturing of the picture. In day light, the picture quality by the rear camera is good but due to the absence of auto focusing feature, the focusing could bring some problems when trying to take close ups. Under low light, the pictures are too noisy and grainy. The video recording is also possible up to 1080p and here it is satisfactory. The performance of front camera is also decent for video conferencing. Overall, camera is not the main rising point of this set.
Battery and Memory
The battery Panasonic Eluga U provides is 2500 mAh which is quite enough to stand for a day and half. Under heavy use, though the battery may get discharged early so it is good enough for moderate use. The RAM here is better, 2GB RAM is enough to load and run android apps. The internal memory is 16GB which is extended to 32GB. This much is large enough to hold quite a large number of apps.
Pros and Cons
For pros:
· The design is slim, light weight and stylish
· Provides perfect grip
· Better optimized for one hand use
· Good performance
· Good battery life
For cons:
· Camera performance is not as per expectations
· Power button is inconveniently placed
· Expensive for medium features
Verdict
The device is highly priced even though it has mediocre features and specifications. It has some good points like good battery life, latest OS version and good performance overall but this even doesn’t justify the price set for the phone. There is nothing special about this phone which could be made its selling point. Even the design of the phone is not its own. The display is though large but the resolution is not impressive and the camera shows performance lags. In comparison to this set, there are other better priced sets available in market having similar specifications. Panasonic need to focus on the areas highlighted to make this phone worth of the price set for it.
