Micromax, after offering Yu Yureka, is luring the customers again with its mid range priced phone Canvas XL 2. The phone was initially launched for Rs 10,999/- but seeming the cold response from the market, the prices dropped down. Seeming the specifications and features of the device, it can force customers to grab the deal at earliest. But does it have enough juice that can force us to buy? Does the device can prove to our expectations like Yureka did? Let’s check all this in our review of Micromax Canvas XL 2.

Features and Specifications

In terms of features and Specification the device looks stunning. Canvas XL 2 is mammoth with 5.5 inch display that is capable of providing great pictures under the sun also. Powering the phone is a 1.2 GHz processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM that is capable of handling heavy games and apps with ease. The phone comes with Android KitKat 4.4.2, sweetest android ever, and it can be controlled just by tapping Ok Google. The phone has enough juice to complete your day work as it has 2500 mAh battery. Coming to connectivity here again it comes with superfast Bluetooth 4.0, High Speed 3G Network support and wi-fi enabled.

Design and Quality

As the name suggests phone size is 5.5 inch so get ready to handle it with your two hands. Display of phone is IPS graded with 16M color resolution which can be seen even under the sun with comfort. The phone looks is similar to typical Micromax with volume rockers at left, power button at right and front camera left to the front earpiece. Phone speaker is located at back with flash right below the Rear Camera and there is no flash for face camera. Micromax XL 2 is made of cheap plastic that was not expected from Micromax. The resolution of phone is QHD 540X960 which can play 720p HD videos.

OS and Tech

The device runs on customized Android KitKat 4.4.2. Canvas XL 2 comes preloaded with some essential apps like Clean Master, Opera, Swiftkey and more. Another notable feature of phone is ability to control it by voice you just need to tap Ok Google and phone is ready to respond you. The phone runs on 1.2 GHz Quad core processor with 1GB that can handle your performance based games and apps easily. There are almost every sensor present in the phone including Proximity, Light Sensor, GPS and others.

On camera side phone comes with a 5MP rear shooter and 0.3MP selfie camera. Flash is also present with the rear camera that can capture your beautiful moments with comfort. Device has ability to autofocus and can shoot videos upto 720p High Definition. On multimedia side phone can play almost every video and audio format including MP4, flv, 3gp, MP3, AMR, AAC, MID. Verdict

Looking at the features I will call phone as entry level smartphone. The phone can be a laggy because of its low processor and RAM. Looking at its competitors the phone looks to be costlier. The phone has got some great competitors with likes of Motorola Mobiles, Xiaomi Mobiles and other companies. The phone is must buy deal for those who needs to do some basic stuff like chatting. But it is definitely for advanced or even medium users.
