Lava Iris Pro 30+
Score
Lava Iris Pro 30+ Mobile Price in India
Lava launched its new and upgraded version of Iris Pro 30 recently and named it Iris Pro 30+. The look and feel of the new version is very much similar to its previous version along with having similar specifications and the price set for it is affordable for the mediocre features and services. Lava is very much aggressive about its smartphone series and very rigorously launches new releases in market. Iris Pro 30+ though borrows many features from its ancestor but it does have its own new and enhanced specifications which need to be known and assessed before investing in this device.
Features and Specifications
The phone is light enough weighing 116g and a screen of 4.7-inch having IPS capacitive touchscreen technology proving 16M colors. The phone has 1GB RAM along with 16GB internal storage which can be extended to 32GB using microSD card for which a slot is available. The phone comes up with two cameras. 13MP back camera has dual LED light and autofocus feature, a secondary camera of 3MP is placed at the front. The phone has less powerful Android v4.2Jelly Beans OS and is powered by 1.5GHz quad core processor. The battery life is provides is 2000mAh of Li-Po type. The connectivity features are many like Bluetooth, USB internet, and 2G/3G.
Design and Quality
Many design features in Iris Pro 30+ are similar to Pro 30. The design is flat edge as it was in its previous version and the back is plastic soft cover which can be removed easily. The phone provides perfect grip and is fingerprint proof. The volume rocker and the power button is located at the right of the phone. Removing the back cover displays the dual SIM slots among which one is of micro size and other regular sized SIM capacity. Another slot under cover is for microSD card. The phone also provides faux-leather cover for the protection having a button to control plastic flap on back side. The design and build quality is good in this case.
OS and Tech
The phone carries an older version of Android OS which is v4.2 Jelly Beans. It would be nice if an upgrade to OS has been provided by Lava to Android v4.4 KitKat and this will enhance its features much more. Lava provides good control of different features through this OS but third party apps are also being employed in it. System monitoring widget provides generates a real graph of CPU, memory, signal use and battery.
Camera and Multimedia
The back side of the phone is equipped with 13MP camera. The camera takes good quality pictures in daylight by the integration of BSI CMOS sensor to camera software. Using the same sensor, acceptable image quality can be achieved even under dim light but since it doesn’t give shock proof service so noise may be observed in pictures if hands get little shaky. Autofocus doesn’t work 100 percent under low light. The overall camera performance is good but there is little lag when one clocks the button and the actual closing of the camera shutter. This thing may little frustrate user. The video quality feels the same things as still images. It is capable of giving full HD shoot of videos and the output is very much decent. Outdoor videos are of good quality but indoor brings little noise in them. The front 3Mp camera works well for selfies but again in daylight, selfies in low light may be problematic.
Battery and Memory
The 2000mAh battery is powerful enough to give consecutive 8hours life to the phone under normal conditions. This much battery can easily last for the whole day but the phone doesn’t provide any power saving mode so the battery life could be ranked as moderate which is not very much impressive but not bad at all. The RAM of the phone is 1GB which seems less to perform swift multitasking in the presence of an old OS and the internal storage is 16GB extendible up to 32GB. This much memory is fair enough to hold many of the Android apps.
Pros and Cons
For pros:
· Good design
· Comfortable grip
· Easy operation
· Affordable price
For cons:
· Old OS
· Low performing camera
· Moderate battery
Verdict
Lava Iris Pro 30+ is overall a good phone. The only drawback here is that the OS is of older version which needs to be upgraded. There are many competitors of this phone which are offering better features at much lower price though the price for Iris Pro30+ is not very expensive but the user will surely compare the functions and features before deciding to buy.
