The processor is a 1.2 GHz quad core processor. 1 GB RAM and 6 GB internal memory is what the buyer gets. The processor, RAM and internal storage are only mediocre. If you are constantly on your phone with the 3G on, the phone will last you 4 hours. With the 2G on, it will go on for 6 hours before you need to connect your charger. Thus the battery is not too impressive. Another thing that let Lava’s customers down is the low RAM which is only 1 GB. The internal memory available is only 6 GB but is expandable up to 32 GB through microSD.

Verdict

The Lava Iris X5 has some exciting features whereas some things are a letdown. Though most of the specifications are the same as other sub-Rs.10000 phones, the rear and front cameras do a good job of standing out. The RAM, processor and internal memory could have been improved or maybe our expectations are just too high. Overall for less than Rs.9000, it’s a great deal.
