Celkon Campus A42 Mobile Price in India
Celkon Mobile is an Indian phone manufacturerwith headquarters in Hyderabad. Almost all its phones are in the low price range. Though right now Celkon is not a household name, we never know what might happen in the near future. Let us take a look at one of its models, the Celkon Campus A42.
Features & Specifications:
The Campus A42 is a Dual SIM smart phone with a 4 inch touchscreen and a 5 MP camera. The Operating System is Android version 4.2.2 Jellybean. Armed with a 1.3GHz processor and a 1400 mAh battery, this phone seems like a good companion at the first glance. Let us take a closer look at the rest of its features. Consider using this device only if you are ok with a small screen size and an outdated operating system.
Design and Quality:
The phone has a 4 inch display which is quite small as compared to most smart phones available nowadays. The screen is IPS LCD capacitive type with 16M colors. The resolution is 480x800 pixels with a pixel density of 233ppi. Multi touch is supported which is great. The dimensions of the phone are 124.5 x 63.5 x 10.2 mm. The Celkon A42 is available in three colors: Yellow, Blue and white. The phone has been designed well and is pretty good to look at.
OS and Tech:
The phone boasts of a dual core 1.3GHz processor. The operating system is Android Jelly Bean (v4.2.2) which is quite outdated but might not be a deal breaker for some people. The phone has a disappointing RAM of 512MB. Multitasking could be a problem because of the limited RAM capacity. The phone supports Java via the Java MIDP emulator. Other phones with similar features (Display, OS and Tech) are Panasonic T31, Lenovo A369i, and Micromax A65 Bolt.
Camera and Multimedia:
The device packs a 5 MP primary camera and a 1.3 MP secondary camera. Since the camera is not this phone’s best feature, the picture quality is quite ordinary. The phone clicks decent pics from its front camera and can be used for video calling.
The phone supports MP3, WAV and AAC audio formats. The video formats supported are only MP4 and H.263. The phone has a standard 3.5mm audio jack and it also comes with an FM radio player. The phone has a document reader and a photo/ video editor.
Battery and Memory:
The phone is packed with a 1400mAh battery which is less than what is expected from phones nowadays. The stand by time is up to 180 hours and talk time is 5 hours which is quite ordinary, which means more frequent trips to the charging point.
The phone has an internal memory of 4GB and the external memory is expandable up to 32GB. Card supported is microSD. The internal memory is quite low as compared to other devices in the same price range. The RAM is low too at just 512MB. All in all, it is not a great device for multitasking.
Pros and Cons:
Pros:
· Low price
· Decent screen type (IPS LCD)
Cons:
· Low battery
· Low RAM
· Ordinary camera
Verdict:
This phone is good for you if you have a very low budget and want a little bit of everything in the same. The RAM is quite less and could cause problems when the user tries to multitask. As said earlier, you would not want to go with this phone if you want a faster device with a great camera. This device is certainly great for your pocket. Another phone with very similar features is Lenovo A319.
