Sony Xperia E3 Dual
Score
Sony Xperia E3 Dual Mobile Price in India
Xperia E3 has Dual SIM features which are almost common in most of the smartphone these days and gives little relieve to carry two separate phones for professional and personal use. Again here the price would be the topic of hot discussion. This phone is low priced with mediocre features providing excellent functionalities as per user needs. The screen though gets little small but it works fine. It is a new version of Sony Xperia range of smartphones.
Features and Specifications
The phone comes with 4.5-inch decent sized screen, Android v4.4.2 (KitKat) along with low powered processor of 1.2GHz. RAM has also been reduced to 1GB which may to some extent bring performance lags. It offers 4GB of handsome internal memory extendible up to 32GB through microSD card slot. 5MP rear camera may seem little less for perfect camera functionalities.
Design and Quality
The set is available in multiple colors. The colored case is made up of polycarbonate giving a matte and glassy finish. There is a blue LED flash at the bottom of the phone which looks elegant but it is visible in dark only. The build quality is high no doubt. Having rounded back, it sides very smoothly on hand and gives a very comfortable feeling. But the problem with the black casing is that it is too delicate and a little force can result in the case deformation and it is probably due to a multipart case. The screen is not only smaller sized but its quality is also questionable as one can easily notice wavy line on TFT screen with only minute force application. Though the phone is relatively light weighing 143g as compared to its competitors and it is thinner as well. The whole device is controlled by buttons located all around it. Volume switch is located at the right side along with power button. Three typical android buttons are located at the bottom of the screen. The design of the phone is quite impressive in general.
OS and Tech
Sony Xperia E3 Dual is equipped with Android v4.4.2 (KitKat) but an update to the OS has been planned to upgrade to Android Lollipop 5.0. Performance of the phone was quite smooth but sometimes one may find heavy loading time and lags in working and it’s all attributed to the hardware not the OS.
Camera and Multimedia
A rear camera of 5MP is provided in the set and it works smooth for the picture that doesn’t require any details. The camera is not provided with an LED light. Daylight photos are better in Sony Xperia E3 Dual but even then there are some flaws observed like even zooming doesn’t improve the picture quality. It can also record videos but it doesn’t satisfy users who demand HD resolution. If one is video recording fan, it is advised to keep a digital camera along rather than trusting this phone.
Battery and Memory
The battery life is quite average. The phone comes with 2330mAh which according to Sony provides 12h of talk time which is not bad but this can only be achieved if the brightness of the set is lowered. Under heavy loading and full brightness, the battery failed to pass the 12h claim of the company and it gets discharged within 3 hours. The set is also observed to heat up quickly which is another negative aspect. The memory has been provided very less in this set. It has 1GB RAM which is not adequate to show extraordinary performance. The internal storage is of 4GB extendible up to 32GB.
Pros and Cons
For pros:
· Good build
· Nice storage capacity
· Sleek design
· Affordable price
For cons:
· Low quality battery life
· Camera is not of good quality
Verdict
Sony Xperia E3 Dual is an elegant smartphone for lower price. The build is too good and the case is very attractive. Memory extension up to 32GB is also impressive for a mediocre phone but still there are flaws which need to be addressed by Sony. The major issue is with the camera and battery. Though the Android is going to be upgraded soon as promised by Sony but the battery and camera features are still very low performing in the set which should also be upgraded in newer versions.
