Gionee Gpad G5 Mobile Price in India
Gionee launched its new smartphone in market naming Gpad G5 which is a successor to its Gpad G4. Though this is latest model but the specifications and features are lower in quality than its predecessors. The OS it operates on is Android v4.4 KitKat while the predecessor had Android v4.2 Jelly Beans. It runs on 1.5GHz Hexa-core processor. Gionee has to make improvements in the specifications and features of the new smartphone to stay in the most competitive market of smartphone in India as well as internationally.
Features and Specifications
The screen of the smartphone is large enough of 5.5-inch with full HD 1280x720p resolution supporting 16M colors. The OS it supports is Android v4.4 KitKat powered by 1.5GHz Hexa-core cortex A7 processor. It has 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage which is extendible up to 32GB through microSD card slot. The battery life went low to 2400mAh. It has two cameras, an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front camera for FD video conferencing and video chats. The connectivity features it offers include 2G/3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth along with support for USB internet. The features and specifications are all mediocre.
Design and Display
The Gionee Gpad G5 is equipped with large screen of 5.5-inch IPS display with a full HD resolution of 1280x720p. It was expected that the viewing angles of the screen would be good but it is not the case though it is acceptable along with decent color production. The screen is added with Dragontrail glass which gives strength to the screen. The overall build quality of the phone is impressive and the flat design of the phone makes the camera quite prominent. The top and bottom of the smartphone are built with metal rim to give it perfect look. At the right of the phone there exists microUSB port and a 3.5mm headphone jacks along with volume button and power button.
OS and Tech
The default OS of the phone is Android v4.4 KitKat and provides full support to all the apps in Play Store. This OS gives user the ability to customize and personalize the UI according to his/her interests. Thus this makes the phone bring new style and keeps user engaged in the new experience of G5 as it provides full compatibility and support to most of the latest Android games.
Camera and Multimedia
The phone comes with two cameras, an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera. The rear camera is supported by LED flash and autofocus feature. The software for camera enables the user to merely touch the screen and the screen will automatically detect the subject user wants to capture. So it has fast imaging capability with a good picture quality along with quite a lot of picture detail. The only issue with the camera is that the colors of the videos and the pictures are not very much impressive even though the colors are bright and sharp enough to meet the least demands of pictures.
Battery and Memory
The battery life here is 2400mAh Li-ion which is removable. This gives 13hrs of talk time as the technology embedded in battery is the energy efficient MT6591 processor thus it is capable of being operated for long hours. It is even good for long time browsing, watching movies and music playing. Though the battery life is not extraordinary but it is enough to support average number of mobile use. The RAM given to the smartphone is 1GB and the internal storage is 8GB which is extendible up to 32GB through microSD slot. This much memory is fair enough to support enough number of Android apps.
Pros and Cons
For pros:
• Good and large display of 5.5-inch
• Slim body and good build quality
• Much improved user interface
• Better overall performance
For cons:
• Average battery life
• The dimensions are uncomfortable large
• RAM is too limited
Verdict
Gionee Gpad G5 is here with decent features and specification but the price set for a mediocre phone is too high when other companies are launching similar smartphone capabilities at lower rates. The build quality is very good and improved in this case. Smartphone users who opt for large screens, Gionee Gpad G5 could be a good option for them with 5.5-inch screen. Dual SIMs option may be common now for almost even mediocre smartphone and the same is also available here. Even though the performance discrepancies have been noticed but few features still make it exclusive choice like the large screen and slim body.
