Spice Stellar 507 Mobile Price in India
Spice Digital is an Indian mobile manufacturing company which was previously known as Cellebrum Technologies Limited. The company was founded in 2000 and in February 2013, Spice released a series of 5 Smartphone. The phone has come a long way in a matter of a few years. Let us take a look at one of the models, the Spice Stellar 507.
Features & Specifications:
The Stellar 507 is a dual SIM phone which has a 5 inch FWVGA screen and a dual core processor of 1.3GHz. The Operating System is KitKat 4.4 and the battery is 1800mAh. The primary camera is 8 MegaPixel whereas the front camera is 1.3 Mega Pixel. The phone has a sporty look and is available in red with black and blue with black. The phone has a 512 MB RAM and expandable memory limit of 32GB. The phone supports both 2G (Dualband GSM 900/1800) and 3G (WCDMA 2100) networks.
Design and Quality:
The 5 inch IPS LCD screen is big enough for comfortably watching movies or videos. The screen is FWVGA (480x854 pixels) and could have been better. The dimensions are 145.2x72.7x10.7mm. For connectivity the phone has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and USB enabled. The phone has hard keys for volume and power on the side. The red and blue color options give the phone a sporty look. The phone reminds us very much of the Nexus series by Google.
OS and Tech:
The phone packs an Android KitKat Operating System (4.4). This is supposed to be one of the smoothest running Android Operating systems. The phone has a 1.3GHz dual core processor and a 512 MB RAM. The RAM size is quite low and might cause problems while quickly switching between tasks. This phone is good for light to medium usage but certainly not for heavy usage.
Camera and Multimedia:
The phone has a primary camera of 8 Mega Pixel with an LED flash and a front camera of 1.3 Mega Pixel. The picture quality is decent and selfies can be clicked but you’d certainly be left wanting better quality. The primary camera has a resolution of 3264x2448 pixels. The phone has an FM radio and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The phone supports only 3GP and MP4 video formats. Music formats supported are MP3, WAV and MIDI.
Battery and Memory:
The phone boasts of an 1800mAh Li Ion battery which is decent for a phone of this price but not exactly ideal, considering the fact that the screen is quite big. The stand by time for 2G is 8 days and talk time is 4 hours which seems very low. The inbuilt memory is 4GB and comes with a microSD card slot expandable up to 32GB. The inbuilt and expandable memory is quite decent for a phone of its price.
Pros and Cons:
Pros:
· Large screen great for watching videos
· Low price
· IPS LCD display improves display from tricky angles
Cons:
· Only 3GP and MP4 video formats supported.
· Only 4 hours battery talk time and 192 hours stand by time (quite low)
Verdict:
The phone is one of the cheapest 5 inch display phones in the market right now. So if a larger screen is what works the best for you and you have a shoe string budget, this phone might be great for you. But do keep in mind the limited video formats supported by this phone before buying it just for multimedia. Overall the phone is good value for money and has most of the must-have features in spite of the low price. Other phones in the same price range with similar features are Xolo A1010 and Micromax Canvas Entice.
