Apple iPhone 6 Plus 16GB Mobile Price List in India

The latest offering from Apple for the smartphone market is their new phablet, the iPhone 6 Plus. Apple has gone from strength to strength in their smartphone releases and this new handset is not different. It is a change from the normal offerings from Apple in that it is much larger and brings the handset into competition with the LG G3 and the OnePlus One.

Features & Specifications

The iPhone 6 Plus has a large 5.5 inch screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels creating a pixels per inch of 401. The phone is powered by a 1.4 GHz, dual core 64-bit processor with an Apple A8 chip and a PVR GX 6450 graphics card with 1GB of RAM. There is 16GB of internal storage with the ability to increase this through the use of a microSD card. The phone has a front facing camera of 1.2MPs and a rear facing camera of 8 MPs, which also has a dual LED flash. The phone has a battery life of 2915 mAh, and has a host of connectivity options including; CDMA, GSM, GPS, 3G, 4G, Bluetooth and USB.

Design and Quality

The iPhone 6 Plus boasts undeniably superb design and quality. The body is made from brushed aluminium and measures 158.1 x 77.8 x 7.1 mm with a total weight of 172g. The trademark bezel at the top and bottom of the screen is still here, with the single home button in the centre of the bezel at the bottom, and the speaker in the bezel at the top along with the front facing camera. The volume buttons are located on the upper left side, with the lock screen button located on the top right side. The 3.5mm audio jack located along the top of the phone. The rear facing camera is located in the top right of the back of the phone, alongside the dual LED light.

OS and Tech

The iPhone 6 Plus runs Apple’s most recent OS, iOS 8.X.  The OS keeps Apple’ trademark design that most of used to.  The beefy dual core processor means that there aren’t any problems with lag, or smoothness when navigating between apps on the phone.

Camera and Multimedia

The iPhone 6 Plus has a front facing camera with an average 1.3MP resolution, but the fun comes from the 8MP rear facing camera and what you can do with it. The rear facing camera is capable of shooting video in 1080p @ 60 fps or 720p @ 240fps as well as having a Dual LED flash and a host of other features including stabilization. That is not to say that the front facing camera is a letdown, it can shoot video in 720p @ 30fps, so perfect for anyone who uses Skype or Facetime regularly.

Battery and Memory

The iPhone 6 Plus is powered by a huge 2915 mAh battery, that Apple say will last a user up to 24 hours of moderate use before needing a charge, but with all phones with large screens, heavy use will drain this considerably faster, but should still give you 12-14 hours. The 16GB version of the phone comes with built-in storage of 16GB. Unfortunately there is no microSD slot, so there is no way to increase this memory, unless you opt to go for a more expensive handset with a larger internal memory.

Verdict

The iPhone 6 Plus 16GB is a phone aimed at a very specific market, the phablet market. It is bringing Apple into competition with the likes of the LG G3 and the OnePlus One. It does this very well, it is a great phone, well designed with a great feel. The screen size is a bit on the large size, and takes some getting used to but the only real downside to this handset is its price, as it is one of the most expensive on the market.
