ZTE Grand S Flex

ZTE Grand S Flex Mobile Price in India
The Chinese manufacturer has been struggling very hard to maintain its credentials in the market and the latest release of it is a mid-range device ZTE Grand S Flex which carries a flatter body and further nice specifications. The battery is quite improved. The price of the device is quite affordable. This is another invention to the same line as that of ZTE Grand X and ZTE Grand Era providing quite premium look. This device is getting attraction at large and yet it has to be decided if it makes any impact in long run or not.
Features and Specifications
The phone is lighter weighing 130g and the screen size is 5.0-inch having IPS LCD Capacitive Touchscreen technology with 16M colors which also supports multi-touch. OS here is Android v4.1 Jelly Beans and the dual-core processor is of 1.2 GHz capacity. The RAM here is 1GB and the internal built-in storage is 16GB which cannot be expanded further. The rear camera is 8MP with LED light with numerous other features like geo tagging, autofocus, and panorama. The camera is capable of recording videos at 1080pi resolution. The front camera is 1MP for the selfies and video calls. The battery provided to this handset is 2300mAh Li-ion and there are numerous connectivity options attached to this device like Wi-Fi, microUSB, A-GPS, Bluetooth, GPS and GSM.
Design and Quality
Grand S Flex is somewhat fatter than Slim Grand S. Though, it doesn’t feel chubby as the size was required to accommodate the large battery. Towards the right hand side, there is a volume switch made up of metal along with MicroSIM port covered by a flip. The microSD card slot also covered with a flip is located on the left hand side and the power button along with the 3.5mm headset jack is located at the top of the phone. The screen is not full HD which is little disappointing and thus it lags behind in the competition with Samsung Galaxy S4 which has the full HD screen even the Grand S has the full HD screen. But the screen is not bad at all and is quite bright and sharp for the games and videos.
OS and Tech
The OS run on it is not the latest one but this must not be a surprise but it should have been at least the v4.2 of Jelly Beans which is at least expected from mid-range devices. The OS also seems quite unresponsive and slow as compared to those provided in Huawei and Sony devices so it is rather astonishing what does the RAM and quad-core processor do in this handset.
Camera and Multimedia
The back camera is placed in glass bubble along with an LED light and a speaker grill. The camera is well capable of recording full HD videos which can be enjoyed on large screen besides the camera app has the typical Android features. The shutter of the camera though is not very quick so getting pictures in quick succession is not possible in this case. But the camera app is simple to be used by the users and the switching to front camera is also very easy. The video playing on the screen is little notchy, observing several lags as the screen is not full HD. The front camera is limited in capacity but works just ok for the selfies. The quality of the pics it delivers is good which is though a surprise carrying very realistic colors.
Battery and Memory
The battery of the device works well for the whole day under normal use but for heavy use, it also requires a recharge at least once. According to the claims of the company, this battery can provide 250hrs of standby time and 3hrs of talk time so the battery if is not very good but it is not bad at all. The 1GB RAM is also sufficient for mid-range devices and the 16GB storage without extension seems nice as well but some people may have reservations over it.
Pros and Cons
For Pros:
· Nice design
· Good grip
· Nice camera and battery life
· Affordable device
For Cons:
· Old OS
· Un-expandable memory
· Performance lags
· No full HD screen
Verdict
The specifications of the phone look nice and are quite attractive for people who prefer affordable handsets. But in reality this is not true. The interface of the handset is quite sluggish and the screen quality if very disappointing despite of the fact that it is a 5.0-inch screen and there things are hurting the Grand S. If someone is ok with not having a full HD screen and a normal processor then this device is good for them but for those who actually go for the good specifications, they need to look for something better than this one.
