Sharp Aquos Crystal
Sharp Aquos Crystal Mobile Price in India
It’s a long time since Sharp has introduced its smartphone in the market. But now the Japanese company is all set to conquer this market with its new release known as Aquos Crystal. This is the most attractive and striking smartphone one has even seen in the market. But the price set for it is quite high. This is the first ever phone of Sharp in the market having an amazing design of the screen. The most stunning thing about the device is that the screen is bezel-less. Thus the dream of mobile users to use an efficient edge-to-edge screen device is now available.
Features and Specifications
The phone weighs 141g making it quite light weight. The display screen is 5-inch large using TFT capacitive touchscreen technology with 16M colors along with providing multi-touch feature. The OS it runs on is Android v4.4.2 KitKat and is getting power from 1.2GHz quad-core processor. The internal storage is 8GB but can be easily expanded up to 128GB besides having 1.5GB RAM. The back camera is 8MP with LED light and autofocus feature along with many others like geo-tagging, panorama, HDR, face detection etc. The front camera is of 1.2MP and is efficiently used for selfies and video calls. Battery provided to it is 2040mAh and the connectivity options included are microUSB, CDMA, Bluetooth, GPS, and Wi-Fi.
Design and Quality
The look of Sharp Aquos Crystal is fantastic. The screen of the phone standalone and by careful look a very faint layer of bezel can be observed all around it. The glass which is covering all the screen is actually stretched to all the edges giving it little horrible feel as this creates some distracting lines towards the edges. The edges are flat and hard and gently curved. The device looks small in comparison to Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8. The whole of the screen has been converted to an earpiece by making it Direct Wave Receiver which actually destroys the image of the beautiful screen but this is actually a very new and latest concept being introduced by Sharp. The front camera is located at the bottom of the screen in silver expanse which may not be liked by some of the users who are used to of the front camera being located at the top of the screen. The back of the phone is white plastic which is removable and the battery is found underneath it along with nano-SIM card slot and microSD card slot.
OS and Tech
Sharp Aquos Crystal runs Android v4.4.2 KitKat. The performance of the OS is classic on the device and is nicely coupled with 1.2GHz processor and 1.5GB RAM. This combination generates a very smooth experience for the user. The OS is capable enough here to make very good use of some of the prominent hardware provided to the handset.
Camera and Multimedia
Sometimes, the camera experience is much customized generating very less than perfect shots. This is a bad news for the Aquos Crystal as the set is provided with powerful 8MP camera which is even anti-flicker and anti-shake. But unfortunately, the camera performance is not of good quality. At most of the times, the lags have been observed in the camera performance and are very slow in focus as well. The picture quality is also very grainy and washed out even under very good lighting conditions. The low lighting condition make the scenario more worst. The front camera is not different. It is equally quirky and doesn’t perform as it was expected of it. The video recording department is also weak here as the videos are of poor quality.
Battery and Memory
The 2040mAh Li-ion battery is not bad though but it is hard for this battery to even stand for hardly 8hours under standard use like Wi-Fi use, watching 720p video besides getting regular updates from social media. But this much battery is hardly an hour more than what the Moto G offers. Under moderate use, this battery is capable of standing for 15hrs which is quite enough time for an individual. The RAM is 1.5GB and the built-in storage is 8GB which is expandable up to 128GB. So the memory is quite large here.
Pros and Cons
For pros:
· Bezel-less screen
· Smart design
· Latest OS
· High RAM and built-in memory
For cons:
· Poor camera
· Non removable battery
· Mediocre audio quality
· Average battery
Verdict
Comparing the prices, the Sharp Aquos Crystal is little expensive than LG G3 and HTC One besides many improvements in the two devices like HTC One has 1080p screen while the Crystal has only 720p. But no doubt, Sharp has actually brought about a change in the smartphone industry by introducing a completely different look device in the market. The bezel-less screen is very attractive which can hardly be found in other devices. So the choice is yours friends.
