Since then the blade series has a number of successors, which have all been well received among the buyers. The ZTE Blade L launched in the last quarter of 2012, is a smartphone which still packs quite a decent punch to it.

Design and Quality
Considering how old the Blade L is, the design of the phone is quite simple yet, alluring. The phone is quite sturdily built and no part of the phone looks cheap. There is only one Black-White variation of the phone available in the market, which looks good on the phone. Below the screen are the four navigation keys for easier access. The volume control and the power buttons are present at the right and left side, respectively. The headphone jack, as usual, is at the top while the charger port and microphone is at the bottom.
OS and Tech
The smartphone comes loaded with Androidv4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which offers better features like Data Management and Face Unlock. The 1 GHz processor along with the OS handles multitasking and other performance dependent tasks fairly well.
Camera and Multimedia
The Camera is a department where the smartphone still poses a threat to the newer generation rivals. The Rear camera is a 5 MP shooter with an LED flash. For a 5 MP camera, the quality of the daylight photos is actually impressive. The camera also has other features like Autofocus, Geo-tagging and Panorama that makes it more fun to handle. The rear camera also supports 720p recording at 30 fps, which is a welcome addition. The front camera is a 0.3 MP which is only good for the occasional video calling.
Battery and Memory
The Battery of the phone is pretty decent at 2000 mAh, which gives enough juice to last the day under moderate usage. There is a 512 MB of RAM on-board the device along with 4 GB of internal memory for people looking for storing large number of small apps and games. Though, there is a 32 GB of external Micro SD card support for sorting out the small storage problems.
Pros and Cons:
For Pros:
• Nice camera with 720p recording
• Dual SIM
Cons:
• A few generations older OS.
• Outdated Specifications
Verdict:
The smartphone will face tough and serious competition from other rivals like Redmi 1S, Xolo Q610s or even the Samsung Star Advance. These devices are newer and better equipped to appeal more to the potential customers than the ZTE Blade L. No doubt, the Blade L is a nice, dependable phone with a nice camera, but in a fight with others, it sure does lag behind.
