It has a beautiful Android jelly bean OS. The Grand X is a very elite option for a businessman as it provides multiple business features such as pushmail. It is a dual sim bar phone with fully capacitive touch supporting a QWERTY keypad. The connectivity of the ZTE Grand X is incredible as it offers 3G and other high speed data networks such as 21 Mbps HSDPA. Motion gaming and other features that require sensors can be run at ease as it comes with accelerometer and a proximity sensor.

Design and Quality

The ZTE Grand X has a metal frame around it and is pretty ordinary for the price and the competition. It does flaunt a huge display of 5 inches. It bears a speaker grille at the rear end of the phone. One of the bigger problems to face while using the phone is the Fingerprint Magnet Display issue, which basically means that it recognizes fingerprints as touch gestures which cause the smartphone to malfunction often. So the user needs to wipe the screen after every little usage period. It does not create a tough atmosphere for the other phones in this range in terms of its design or looks. It is arguably bulky and weighs a hefty 170 gm. The display though is neat and is of IPS type. It has a qHD display resolution with 540x960 resolutions to work on.

OS and Tech

The operating system is a couple of versions older to the latest one and is based on Android jelly bean OS (v4.2). The OS is not the issue and is usually fast in operation as it is backed with a powerful 1.2 GHz processor. The Grand X is GSM smartphone.1GB of RAM suffices for most of the operations be it app usage or multi-tasking or even net surfing. The RAM and processor along with the OS offer smooth touch functionality and is a thumbs up for this product.

The Camera is undoubtedly a very good one and is made even better with all the editable and photography features that it is loaded with. 8MP rear camera is what it has to show off, though VGA front camera wouldn’t be the best asset of the phone. Dim lights and dark images are waved off with a powerful LED flash. The image quality is enhanced as it allows the user to zoom in to a great extent proving a digital zoom upto 4x times the normal. Verdict

With all that being said the ZTE Grand X could be or rather needs to be better in order to remain in the shelf for a longer period. It has a great camera quality and an even better battery backup. The feature it provides does not strike a notion of something new being offered and hence has no standout factor. Moto E 2^nd Gen, Lava Iris X5 and Redmi 2 are some of the big smartphone names in this price range and have proven to be reliable and worthy of the buy. It sure exhibits a big screen and has a good set ofspecifications but needs more craftsmanship on the design and quality.
