It carries 1.2GHz dual-core processor carrying dual SIM capability. The OS it operates on is Android v4.2 Jelly Beans. The screen is large 4-inch capacitive touchscreen. The internal storage provided in it is 4GB which is expandable further up to 32GB using microSD card. The RAM her is 512MB. It comes with only single 2MP rear camera. Design and Quality

Lenovo A316i is made up of black plastic body carrying backlit touch sensitive buttons. This is one of the very usual types of budget handset having a ribbed back which is resistant to abrasion. All the components in it are very well assembled without giving any pain to reach one. The phone is a light weight handset weighing 121g. It looks nice in hand but the power button is located at a very inconvenient place as it is located at the very upper end of the phone and very much shifted to right side. The right hand side of the phone carries the volume rocker towards the top, a microUSB connector and a 3.5mm headset jack. The back cover is removable where the battery is located along with two SIM card slots that accept full sized SIMs along with a memory card slot. There is no front camera in this handset. The 4-inch screen is also decent. The quality of picture is also quite decent but it lacks automatic brightness adjustment and can be done manually. The screen gets faded in the sunlight but gives good visibility. The viewing angles of the screen are also good.

OS and Tech

The OS is older here as well and any second tier mobile manufacturer normally doesn’t provide any upgrade to OS. This device will also not provide any upgrade to its old OS. This OS even works quite decently with the support of the 1.2GHz processor and the performance has been observed quite smooth by now.

Camera and Multimedia

There is very rudimentary camera available in this handset. It carries only 2MP back camera. The performance of the camera is very poor and it is not eve capable of recording acceptable quality videos. There is nothing much to talk about its camera as it is just basic camera and doesn’t carry any special feature which is worth mentioning here.

In actual test, this handset was successful in lasting for two days under moderate use. Even under heavy load, this device is capable of lasting for one full day and a half. It takes about 2hrs to get it fully recharged. The RAM is very limited in it to 512MB but can be considered as satisfactory in this case while the internal storage is 4GB out of which 2.5GB is available to the users. The memory can be extended to 32GB with the use of microSD card. This much memory is good handsome from a phone like Lenovo A316i.

The handset has good ringer volume. There is no defect in the communication mechanism which it provides. It is budget sensitive phone which could be good news to Lenovo customers. This handset is quite acceptable to many users who care for the performance and price more than camera. But people who prefer photography with handsets, for them this device is not a good option. They are then recommended to look for better devices at the expense of little more cost. All the features in this handset are very much reasonable expect the camera so the overall rating of the device is not bad if the performance is taken into account and this should be getting attention from masses in coming times.
