The keyboard then here means that the screen then has little importance than the keyboard. Since the screen here is square which means it has little problem and that is it will not display more contents.

The phone is on heavier side weighing 178g and the SIM it accepts is Nano-SIM. The screen is 3.5-inch large with capacitive touchscreen technology in place along with 16M colors and providing multi-touch facility with the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The OS here is BlackBerry 10.3.1 along with 1.5GHz dual-core processor. The RAM is 2GB and the built-in storage is 16GB which is further expandable up to 128GB using the microSD card. The rear camera is 8MP with the LED flash light and other features like touch focus, HDR, geo-tagging, panorama and face detection. The front camera is 2MP which is used for selfies. The battery provided to it is 2515mAh Li-ion and the set is available in black and white color. The connectivity features provided in this handset include Bluetooth, GPS, microUSB, Wi-Fi, and GSM.

Design and Quality

BlackBerry has peculiar design signature in its all handsets. The classic may not be the thinnest handset but it provides good level of comfort to hold in hand and very little chance of sliding or slipping from hand. The power button is placed at the top of the device right in the center while the volume rocker and the mute buttons are on the right. Towards the left side is the memory card and SIM card slot while underneath which lies the microUSB port and the HDMI capabilities, speaker and the microphone. The device comes with its own OS i.e. BlackBerry 10.3.1 but the company now has to take tough decision to switch over to Android OS as there no other company who is developing the native apps of BlackBerry. But it is equally a fact that most of the Android apps are designed for the square screens. Even this OS works fine for the apps it has been installed in the device but it is required by the company to go for some Android version as users are more used to that than any other OS. Though this OS supports Android apps but one has to be restricted to Amazon Appstore.

The back camera of the device provides reasonable pictures which could be fun to shoot with while one is on trip to some exciting place. There are many features attached with the camera like LED light, panorama, HDR etc. The flash can be set on, off or on automatic mode. The pictures are of nice quality. The camera is capable enough to record videos at 1080p resolution and the quality of videos are also good but due to the square screen, there may not be full fun to enjoy the videos. The front camera is of 2MP and works fine for the selfies.

Battery and Memory

Due to having average specifications and smaller screen, it is expected that the battery provided with this device will last for long but the performance of the battery never remain steady for all type of apps. For some it lasts long and for others it goes down quickly. The company claims for this device to stand for 17.2hrs of talk time and 15.2 days of standby time. But in real, this battery works fine for the whole day and by the evening one needs a charger. The RAM here is 2GB which is a good jump and the internal storage is 16GB which can be expanded up to 128GB with the help of microSD card. The memory is not bad especially the extension is awesome and this much memory is more than enough for almost every sort of user.

Verdict

Nexus 6 is considered as the best Android handset in market having 5.9-inch large screen and latest Android v5.0 LolliPop support which is considered better than BlackBerry Classic. The company needs to upgrade to Android OS though it provides good level of support to Android apps but little more bold step is yet expected from BlackBerry to remain in business.
