This phone is a dual SIM smart phone rigged with a 4" FWVGA capacitive touch screen. The screen has a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels which is obviously a little lower, but is common in phones in this price range. Surprisingly enough the screen has 16 M color density. The phone comes with a Dual core 1 GHz processor which is quite good for a phone of this price. The phone comes preloaded with Android v4.4 KitKat which is another plus point of it. Like Intex Aqua A1, Intex Aqua Y2 Pro also has a 5 MP rear camera with an LED flash present beside it for low light photography. The camera has the ability to record videos. The front camera is a VGA one for participating in Skype sessions. The phone is equipped with a 512 MB RAM which will not be enough to run high fps games. The handset comes with 4 GB internal storage space which can be externally expanded to 32 GB. A 1600 mAh battery pack is present to provide power to the phone, which may not be enough to run the phone all day long. But you cannot expect a more powerful battery at this price range. The phone additionally has features like Wi-Fi, micro USB, Bluetooth, and GPS and supports 3G networks.

Design and Quality

The phone is available only in one color, i.e. black. The phone has a cool style with light blue edges. There are touch buttons on the bottom of the phone just under the screen. The dimensions of the phone are 134 x 68.2 x 9.9 mm. The phone is quite thin than its rival phone models. So carrying it is quite an easy task. The phone weighs 141.5 gm which makes it a little bit heavy. Overall the phone has a cool look which makes it look more expensive than it really is.

OS and Tech

The phone comes preloaded with Android v4.4 KitKat. The Android v4.4 is not the latest version of the OS, but in my opinion the phone will perform best in this OS since v5 Lollipop demands more powerful hardware. Equipped with a 1 GHz Dual core processor the phone performs very well. But be aware that you will not be able to play high FPS games since the phone does not have any dedicated GPU. HD movie playback may suffer because of this also. Still the phone can handle light gaming, movie playback and other multimedia tasks well.

Camera and Multimedia

The phone has a 5 MP rear camera along with an LED flash. The camera can take overall good images in daylight, but do not expect it to take good quality images at night or in low light environments. The camera can record standard quality movies too. For having tight budget Intex did not equip the phone with a better camera with advanced features like auto focus, touch focus, HD movie recording etc. The front VGA camera is suitable for making video calls or taking part in video chat sessions. But the front camera does not have the ability to take quality selfies. The phone features a 4" FWVGA screen of 480 x 854 pixels resolution. Because of its low quality and low resolution the screen will not be able to deliver sharp and crisp pictures. Still the screen has a good color density so accept a higher level of accuracy in terms of color from this screen which is a plus point. Overall the phone lags a bit in the multimedia section, but we cannot expect a phone with better features than this at the given price range.

Battery and Memory

Intex Aqua Y2 Pro comes with a 1600 mAh battery. Intex claims the battery will be enough for a talk time of 4.5 hours and a standby time of 180 hours. So be sure to charge the handset several times throughout the day to maintain its activity. The phone is rigged with a 512 MB RAM which is pretty common in an entry level smart phone. Aqua Y2 Pro comes with 4 GB internal storage space and features a microSD card for expanding the memory up to 32 GB additionally.

Verdict

Although the phone lacks better features and better hardware, it is quite a reliable handset. If you compare it with its main competitors Micromax Bolt Q324 and Karbonn A99i you will notice there is little to no difference between them. So if you are looking for a quality handset and have a tight budget then you can definitely go with Intex Aqua Y2 Pro.
