Huawei Ascend Y530 Mobile Price in India
The latest smartphone from Chinese manufacturer Huawei is Ascend Y530. Huawei is famous for releasing budget devices almost every 6 months. This is one such case of an affordable handset. The price of Y530 makes it more competitive for Nokia Lumia 520, Sony Xperia M and Motorola Moto G. This is slightly an updated version of Ascend Y300 as per specifications are concerned. The closest rival of Y530 is Moto G which doesn’t have the memory extension but this one has memory extension up to 32GB which is the most stunning point when the primary memory is 4GB.
Features and Specifications
The weight of the Huawei Ascend Y530 is 145g. The screen is 4.5-inch developed with TFT Capacitive Touchscreen Technology carrying 16M colors. The screen also provides multi-touch capacity. The OS used in it is Android v4.3 Jelly Beans and the processor is 1.2GHz dual-core. 512MB RAM is provided to it with internal memory of 4GB which can be expanded up to 32GB with the help of microSD card. The rear camera is of 5MP having LED light and other features like autofocus and geo tagging while the front facing camera is rudimentary VGA. The battery is 1750mAh and the connectivity options are microUSB, GPS, Wi-Fi, GSM and Bluetooth.
Design and Quality
The bezels around the screen are large enough making the experience of using the device little less interesting. This also gives a cheap appearance to the device. Though it fits quite comfortably in one hand and the weight of the device makes it quite solid and sturdy. It has the back cover made up of plastic having diagonal lines to provide perfect grip. But this makes its look more plastic and cheap. The SIM card size it supports is normal. The SIM can be inserted under the back cover along with battery and microSD card slot also available there. It doesn’t have any physical button for home which is surprising. It has only one physical button located at its left hand side. The left hand side carries three buttons; two of them are for volume and the third one for power. Three navigation buttons are provided behind the screen. The 3.5mm head set jack is located at the top of the device and the microUSB port is found at the bottom.
OS and Tech
The OS is though old but being an Android device, it has access to almost every app available at Google Play Store. Over the OS, there is personalized Emotion UI installed on it providing many customization to the user. The mid-range devices normally have the Jelly Beans type of OS.
Camera and Multimedia
The 5MP main camera is almost a standard for mid-range smartphones. The camera though has been improved in Y530 as compared to that provided in Y300. The Camera app is nicely built and provides easy finding settings for the camera app. There are some handfuls of filters available in the camera app which can be applied to after and before a still shot has been taken by it. But all the filters are not very good rather some of them are very poor. The image quality though is not very well but is good enough for the everyday use. Under lowlight, the quality of the images becomes grainy while the zooming in also distorts the image quality. The videos recorded by this camera are better than the still images but the front camera being very basic doesn’t serve the purpose completely.
Battery and Memory
1750 mAh battery is good enough for Y530. Even though one would require recharging it every day under medium high use but under medium-low use, this can last for 2 days. The battery is removable which is even better than the good battery provided in Moto G but is non-removable. The 512MB RAM is less and this would definitely affect the performance of the device so it should have been raised up to 1GB at least. The internal storage is though less but extension is fair enough to let users install as many apps in it as they want.
Pros and Cons
For Pros:
· Simple UI
· Good design
· Nice battery life
· Affordable price
For Cons:
· Old OS
· Less built-in storage
· Lack of 4G connectivity
· average camera
· Low RAM
Verdict
The UI provided in Huawei Ascend Y530 is very simple and easy to use. Though the quality of screen is not powerful enough to render smooth graphics for games but it hold enough power to perform rest of the essential work. Before purchasing this device, one needs to think twice. It is not that this device is bad but it doesn’t worth the value one pays for it. Some better value devices are available in the market which is worth buying like Motorola Moto G.
