HTC Desire Eye Mobile Price in India
HTC is a Taiwan based company that is at the forefront of the Smartphone market. With high end specification Smartphone being their primary stake, it is no surprise that the HTC Desire Eye is up there with the likes of the iPhone 6. It is clearly targeted at selfie loving young people, with its massive front facing 13MP camera.
Features & Specifications
The Desire Eye has a large 5.2inch capacitive touch screen with full-HD resolution of 1080x1920, creating pixels per inch of 424. The phone is powered by a 2.3 GHz Quad Core Snapdragon processor with a meaty 2GB of RAM. It comes with a large built-in storage of 16 GB. This can be further expanded using a microSD card of up to 128 GB. The phone’s key selling point is its camera quality, with a huge front facing camera of 13MP and a rear facing camera with Dual LED Flash and another 13MP. The Desire Eye has a large battery at 2400 mAh capacity and a range of connectivity options; Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, FM, micro USB charging, GSM and 2G, 3G and 4G. The device runs Android KitKat v4.4.4, the newest version of the Android OS available.
Design and Quality
The look of the phone is very appealing, and is built from a polycarbonate unibody, giving it colour and more importantly, water resistance of up to 1 metre for 30 minutes. For its size, it is quite light, weighing in at 154g, with dimensions of 151.7 x 73.8 x 8.5mm. The front of the phone is taken up mostly by the large touch screen, with a slim profile of the body at the top and bottom. The front facing camera is at the top of the phone, along with the speaker and led light. There is a microUSB charging slot on the base of the phone and a 3.5mm audio jack on the top. On the right hand side is the volume rocker; lock screen button and camera button, with flaps on the left hand side for the SIM card and microSD card.
OS and Tech
The phone runs Android KitKat v4.4.4, Androids most up to date operating system. As with all Android OS’s the phone is very customisable, with multiple home screens to store your apps how and where you want to. There is also a range of widgets, backgrounds and animated screensavers to fully customise your device.
Camera and Multimedia
The front facing camera is by far the standout feature on this phone, at 13MP, the same size as the rear camera, also 13MP. The rear camera also comes with an LED flash. It is capable of playing MP3, MP4, WAV and WMA and comes with photo viewer and editor, document viewer and a voice control feature. The screen resolution also means you can watch videos and play games in Full HD.
Battery and Memory
The 2400mAh battery is enough to last you a whole day and a bit with light use. The size of the screen and the processor means that under long periods of use, or with lots of background apps running you should still be able to get 6-10 hours before needing to recharge using the microUSB charging port on the bottom of the phone. The 2GB of RAM is more than enough for even the most processor hungry applications, and the Quad Core Snapdragon processor means that it will stay super fast, no matter what you are up to.
Pros and Cons
For Pros:
● Massive front facing camera
● Full HD screen
● Very impressive processor
● Water resistant
● Great designed case
For Cons:
● Not as impressive rear facing camera
● Battery life
● Plastic casing not as appealing as its metal counterparts
Verdict:
This is a smart move from HTC, targeting the growing trend of selfie takers in the younger segment of the market. The camera is by no means the only selling point of the phone, with all the other specifications apart from the rear camera being top of the line. The design is sleek and comfortable and the water resistance is a great feature. While not as expensive as some of the other smart phones in its tier, like the HTC One and iPhone 6, it is great value for money.
