Mitashi AP101 Mobile Price in India
In the recent surge of homegrown smart phone manufacturers, companies like Micromax Mobiles, Intex Mobiles and Mitashi Mobiles are becoming quite popular in the Indian market as they are offering more features for a lesser price tag. Mitashi as a company started in 1998, providing various entertainment and educational technologies. It is best known for its DVD and TV technology. But recently Mitashi also joined the race to produce feature rich phones. Mitashi phones are quite popular in the market for providing good quality handsets at an affordable price. The Mitashi AP 101 is another entry level cheap but feature rich phone from Mitashi. Let us take a look at the company's latest launch.
Features and Specifications
The Mitashi AP 101 is a dual SIM GSM phone that is equipped with a large 5" LCD TFT screen. The screen has a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, which is a little lower but if you take the price tag into consideration then the resolution seems well enough. The phone features a 1.2 GHz Dual core processor which is enough for an entry level smart phone. The phone comes loaded with Android OS v4.2 Jelly Bean. Mitashi AP 101 has a CMOS 5 MP rear camera. There is a flash present beside the camera for low light photography. There is a 0.3 MP VGA front camera present. The phone comes with a 512 MB RAM which is okay for a smart phone in this segment. The phone has 4 GB internal storage and the storage space can be externally expanded up to 32 GB. The phone has an 1800 mAh which will be sufficient for this phone. Shockingly the phone comes with only 2G network connectivity, so no video calls can be made by this phone and no high speed internet either. The phone also comes with advanced features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB connectivity.
Design and Quality
The phone comes in two colors, black and white. Both of them suit the style of the phone. The phone has rounded edges which give it a subtle look. The dimensions of the phone are 149 x 77 x 10.35 mm. As you can see the phone is a bit thick, 10.35 mm which in term promises better grip but also makes the phone a little heavy. The phone because of its shape can be carried around in any size of pocket. The phone has three touch buttons on the bottom part. Overall the phone is quite good design wise.
OS and Tech
The phone is loaded with Android v4.2 Jelly Bean which is an outdated version of Android considering the latest one is v5 Lollipop. But still the phone has a 1.2 GHz Dual core processor so it performs well in Jelly Bean OS. The processor is suitable for handling light games, movie playback, general works and net surfing efficiently and smoothly. It is of no surprise that the phone does not have any dedicated GPU, as the budget is quite low. So heavy or high fps games will suffer in this phone.
Camera and Multimedia
The phone has 5 MP rear camera that comes along with an LED flash. The camera quality is okay for a smart phone of this price tag, and is good for taking pictures in daylight but the image quality is disappointingly bad at night. The camera also lacks features like auto focus, touch focus, Geotagging etc. But it has the ability for digital zooming. The front camera is a VGA one which can only be used to take selfies, but the quality will not be that good either. The front camera cannot be used to make video calls as the phone does not support 3G connectivity. Mitashi AP 101 features a large 5" LCD TFT screen with a lower resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. So do not expect crisp and sharp pictures from this screen. But overall the screen will be enough for enjoying movies and playing games.
Battery and Memory
The phone draws its power from an 1800 mAh battery pack which will not be enough for a phone with this configuration. The company claims it will be enough for a standby time of 4 hours. So you will have to charge this phone several times throughout the day to keep it alive. The phone is rigged with 512 MB RAM which will be able to deliver optimized performance. The phone has a storage space of 4 GB and has a microSD card slot to expand the space to 32 GB.
Pros and Cons
Pros
· Affordable price
· Powerful processor at a reasonable price
· Good design
Cons
· Lack of a better camera
· Low screen resolution
· No 3G/ 4G network support
· Poor battery life
Verdict
Although Mitashi tried to stuff a lot of features inside the phone while keeping it in the reach of the middle class, the phone seriously lacks some inevitable features. The most vital of them is the lack of 3G network support which makes the front camera quite useless. If you compare the handset with its main competitors Micromax Bolt AD3520, Karbonn A90 or even XOLO A500S then Mitashi AP 101 gets behind the race by a large margin.
