Design and Quality

Nokia Lumia Icon has the metallic chassis along with very soft touch back made up of polycarbonate which is quite famous for the durability. The look and feel of the device is very premium. The Corning gorilla Glass3 protection on screen protects it from scratches. The edges of the devices are curved blending nicely with the metallic back. The bottom of the device carries the microUSB port along with microphone. At the right hand side is the power button, volume rocker and camera button. The left hand side doesn’t carry anything. At the top of the device is the SIM card slot and the 3.5mm headset jack. The camera department is the best feature where this device shines over others. The back camera having dual LED light having a fixed aperture that brings very nice amount of light. The color reproduction along with the performance of the device under low light is good but the pictures produced are quite over sharpened. The similar problem can be observed in Lumia 1020 that brings shutter lags and the shot by shot performance. The best-selling point of this device is largely its camera. The front camera works equally fine for the selfies and video calls. The videos recorded by this camera are also of good quality and they look much more interesting while running on its large screen.

Battery and Memory

The battery life is very solid in Lumia Icon. 2420 mAh battery can keep this device running for whole day even little more can also be left for the next day. Even under heavy use, this battery keeps the phone alive for the whole day. Under normal use, the two days use is even expected from this much battery. The RAM is quite good here and the internal storage is also justifiable but there is no extension to memory available in it, which may be little disappointing for the users.

Verdict

This is a very solid Windows based device. It is filled with very fun apps and nice tricks along with beautiful hardware. The resolution is quite rich in colors and perfectly high in resolution but the arrangement of pixels doesn’t look nice and almost kills the performance of the screen. The camera of the phone is worth noticing. The major other features of the phone are common to that of Lumia 1020. This handset is very good but it is not free of flaws as well.
