Design and Quality

The Samsung Galaxy Core LTE sits well in the line of Galaxy S4 which follows the design of S3 range. The building of the device is very strong having chassis made up of polycarbonate which is rigid enough to give it a strong body. The back is patterned and slightly rubber coated which provides good grip to the hand. The phone has rounded edges with 10mm thin casing. The device is available in white and black colors which gives good impression of the handset. There is metal bezel around the phone giving the device a very stylish look. All these have put little weight on the device but it doesn’t make it inconvenient to use. Even their 4.5-inch devices that weighs more than this one and one among them is Acer Liquid E2 Duo that weighs 140g.

OS and Tech

The OS here is old one but the company has its own user interface over it naming TouchWiz. Though the OS is old but the UI convinces users with its very colorful and nicely arranged design along with making it easy to find. Even with the old OS, the performance of the device is quite decent.

Camera and Multimedia

The back camera has 4 times optical zoom along with the flash light. The picture quality is quite decent but the camera performance cannot be matched with that of Google Nexus 4, Apple iPhone 5 and Nokia Lumia 920. The performance of camera is even not better than Galaxy S4. The picture under normal light is better but under low light they become blurry. The videos recorded by it are also of nice and presentable quality. The front camera is very basic VGA so it is just ok.

Battery and Memory

The battery of Samsung Core LTE is neither too bad nor too efficient. At the most this battery can let the device running about 23 hours which is almost a full day with minimum brightness of screen when the screen uses the power saving features. This battery of Motorola Moto G is better than this one that works for more than 25hrs. As per claims of the company, this battery provides 540hrs of standby time and 11hrs of talk time and this is not bad at all. The RAM is good for a mid-range device while the internal storage is limited but the extension is good enough to accommodate as many apps as a user wants.

Verdict

Samsung this time launched a 4.5-inch screen device which is convincing in three aspects like the affordable price, the high speed LTE and the good quality building material as it used metallic bezels all around the phone. But there are few limitations as well like low RAM, limited 8GB memory and the dual-core processor. The OS here is also an older one. But the overall performance of the phone is good enough to be considered as presentable handset for almost every user. Though most of the Samsung devices are not much affordable but hopefully this one would not create extra burden on users.
