Oppo R5 Mobile Price in India
Though, there are many good offerings from Apple and Samsung in terms of smartphones, but the thinnest ever smartphone has even been produced by Chinese manufacturer Oppo. The new flagship from Opp R5 is 4.85mm thick, which is the thinnest ever phone by now. In the mobile industry, the Chinese manufacturers are getting very active and flourishing with good pace. OnePlus One is one such example of Chinese device. The new Oppo R5 is another addition which is an affordable smartphone from Chinese manufacturers. It is generally thought that affordable price means low quality device, but Oppo R5 completely changes this concept as this is a good quality phone.
Features and Specifications
The weight of Oppo R5 is 155g supporting micro-SIM. The screen is 5.2-inch large made up of AMOLED Capacitive Touchscreen carrying 16M colors also providing multi-touch and the protection to the screen has been given by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The OS is Android v4.4.4 KitKat while the processor is 1.0GHz Quad-core. The RAM is 2cGB and the built-in storage is 16cGB without further expansion. The main rear camera is 13MP along with LED light and features including autofocus, face detection, Geo tagging, panorama and HDR. The front camera is 5MP used for video calls and selfies. The battery is 2000mAh Li-Po which is non-removable and the connectivity options are also vast like GSM, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and microUSB.
Design and Quality
From the front, the device doesn’t look very stereotypical as it seems this has been developed after considering multiple designs from other smartphones. Here is a thick bezel both at bottom and top along with thin strips besides the screen. In design of this device, the iPhone’s influence can be largely observed from the backside. The phone comes in Gold and White colors which is another copy of iPhone. Similarly like the iPhone 6 Plus and 6, the camera of this device also sticks out a bit which is required to handle 13MP large camera sensor. But this distracts the design as the camera looks somewhat afterthought and more an oversight from Oppo design team. Though design wise this is not an attractive handset but the thinness of the device is the most attractive feature. The square edges of the device makes the grip little hard as comparatively HTC One M8 has curved edges making the grip perfect. The front of the phone has Android button, 5MP front facing camera, sensors and speaker and the back has the rear camera along with LED flash towards the upper left side. There are limited numbers of physical keys in this handset but the power button and the volume rocker are located towards right along with the microUSB port at their base. The microSIM tray lies on the left side. There is no headphone port and the users will only have to rely on the microUSB adapter.
OS and Tech
A custom version of latest Android v4.4.4 KitKat is available in it which is known as ColorOS 2.0. But Oppo has made changes on the interface and making it give heavier Android feel. OS is latest thus the performance of the device is quite swift and faster multitasking is being provided by it.
Camera and Multimedia
The camera here is very solid even not comparable to its own brother N3 and many other competitors. The back camera is supported by Sony sensor. The images produced by it have good sharpness. The low light performance of the camera is only average, while the good light performance of the camera is awesome. It can record videos of nice quality which looks good on the screen as well. The front camera works perfectly nice for the selfies.
Battery and Memory
2000 mAh non-removable battery has been provided with it. Though, this is not the largest battery comparing to the size of the screen and the thinner size of the device. Samsung Galaxy S4 having 5-inch screen has 2600 mAh while the OnePlus One has 3100 mAh battery. This clearly means devices having bigger screens need to have larger batteries but Oppo is lacking in this trend. Day to day use of this device is supported by this much battery. It requires recharging every day. The 2 GB RAM is powerful enough to give good performance to the device while the 16 GB internal storage seems enough but lack of expansion may be disappointing for the users.
Pros and Cons
For Pros:
· Good design
· Excellent build quality
· Nice camera
· Good RAM and memory
For Cons:
· Sluggish in performance at times
Verdict
The Oppo R5 is well known for its perfectly crafted design. Though there is lacking in performance but this can be fixed with time to time updates about the software. The device is little expensive but comparing it with Xiaomi Mi4 which is cheap and has better specification than Oppo R5 and for better value than OnePlus One is good choice.
