Obi S400 Mobile Price in India
Obi Mobiles is the mobile brand of Inflexion point, and the phone company that began operating in the Indian market in April 2014. It is backed by Apple’s Ex-CEO John Scully. Obi plan on bringing mid-market Smartphone to the already crowded Indian market.
Features & Specifications
The Obi S400 has a 4 inch touchscreen with a resolution of 480x800 pixels. The phone is powered by 1.2GHz dual core processor with 512MB of RAM. The Obi S400 also comes with 4GB of built-in storage, with the ability to extend this by and extra 32GB by using a microSD card. There are two cameras, the front facing camera is 0.3MP and the rear facing camera is 2MP, which doesn't have a flash. The Obi S400 has a 1500mAh battery, takes two Sims and has a range of connectivity, such as Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, FM, micro USB charging and a 3.5mm audio port.
Design and Quality
The phone has a nice design and comes in either white or black. Along the right hand side of the phone is the volume rocker and lock screen button, with headphone jack being located on the top. The camera is situated in the centre top of the read panel with the front facing camera being placed in the top right corner. The phones dimensions are 63.35x123.5x11.1mm and it weighs in at 118g.
OS and Tech
The Obi S400 runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, one of the older versions of Android. As with all Android OS’s, the level of customisation is good, much better than Apple’s iOS, with customisable themes, widgets and more available. While you will miss out on some of the improved features released with Android 4.4 Kit Kat, Jelly Bean is still a more than satisfactory OS.
Camera and Multimedia
The Obi S400 has two cameras, a front facing camera with 0.3MP and a rear facing camera with 2MP. Unfortunately the phone does not have a flash function, which means that the phone struggles with taking photos or videos in low lighting. The phone has a host of fairly standard multimedia options, including audio and video playback, FM radio and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Battery and Memory
The handset has a fairly small 1500mAh lithium ion battery, which should last just over 1 day under moderate to light usage, but under heavy use, like watching plenty of video, playing games, will cause this to shorten considerably. The Obi S400 has internal storage of 2GB, which is very small. A normal user will fill this very quickly, but fortunately there is the ability to increase this by using a microSD card, up to a size of 32GB.
Pros and Cons
For Pros:
● Good price
For Cons:
● No flash
● Poor internal storage
● Weak processor
Verdict
A decent budget phone with some good qualities. Price is key here, and you will be getting what you pay for. The lack of flash for the camera is a disappointment as is the almost laughably small internal memory. A microSD card is an absolute must with this phone, and if you love having all your music/videos with you, this will be a struggle. The processor also means that some of the more memory hungry apps now on the market will perform slightly less than what most people would consider smooth.
