Celkon Millennia Epic Q550 Mobile Price in India
Celkon is again in action with the launch of Millennia Epic Q550 which is an addition to its Millennia lines of smartphone. It is lightweight phone weighing only 143g which makes is standing ahead of its competitors. Though other features are mediocre but little enhancements have been made in few features which will be discussed in detail below. The phone even having large screen of 5.5-inch should have made it a heavy device but Celkon handles its weight perfectly well so that it doesn’t prove to be felt as a burden on user’s pocket and purse.
Features and Specifications
This phone comes under phablet for having 5.5-inch large screen using IPS technology and provides full HD resolution. The device is powered by 1.3GHz Quad-core processor along with 1GB RAM. The OS system it operates on is Android v4.4.2 KitKat which is a latest OS and serves its purpose very well here too. The phone is equipped with two cameras. The back camera is of 8MP and the front one is of 2MP. The rear camera is also given support of LED light and auto focus features in order to work fine under dim light conditions. This is a Dual SIM (GSM + GSM) phone and the battery life has been enhanced up to 3500mAh but it is not removable. The internal storage is also increased and this time it is 16GB but it can be further extended to 64GB. The connectivity options include 2G/3G, GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth, and USB internet.
Design and Quality
This light weight phone has attractive design. It has merely 8mm of thickness making it the slimmest smartphone in the market. It is made up of total plastic which may go against it and may destroy the overall image of the phone. The SIM slot and the microSD card slots are available on the left side of the phone and the second SIM slot is available on the right side along with volume rocker and the power button. Below the screen, there are 3 capacitive keys used for the navigation. There is little problem faced by users during navigations as back lit light has not been provided for the keys. The large screen is a good feature but the screen is very reflective which is a downside. The screen is even not fingerprint proof and thus visible smudges are easily observed on it. If the screen is set to minimum brightness but even then under minimum brightness, the screen brightness is too heavy.
OS and Tech
Android v4.4.2 KitKat has been running on the set. There has been two changes in the OS first that Apps Ops feature has been brought back in it by Celkon which is a feature of Android Jelly Beans and was removed by Google in KitKat. The second change is the installation of bloatware apps which allows user to keep using an app even if the apps warranty has been expired. These features make this set somewhat awesome as compared to its competitor sets.
Camera and Multimedia
The camera is a mediocre in Celkon Millennia Epic Q550 and this set is good for those users who are not fond of photography. The camera isn’t the best one. The color capturing is though good with rear camera but it doesn’t compete with the original colors in the scene. In low light the amount of details goes lower as well. In good light, the camera performance is satisfactory. The autofocus features works perfectly fine and sharp images are produced with zooming option. The video recording of the camera is though better than the still images. The front camera works fine for the fallacies.
Battery and Memory
The battery life is awesome and it doesn’t get discharged even if someone keeps on using internet, playing games, sharing videos and photos over social media. This is the area where the Celkon has really made a giant leap. Under moderate use, the battery even lasts for 2 days. But the problem with large batteries is that they get time to get fully recharged. The internal storage is large of 16GB which can be enhanced further up to 64GB. The internal storage is large enough to install all Android apps in it.
Pros and Cons
For pros:
· Large and vibrant screen
· Slim and smart design
· Affordable price
For cons:
· Camera is not good
· Loudspeaker is also mediocre
· Plastic build
Verdict
Celkon Millennia Epic Q550 is an excellent invention under mid-range smartphone category. Many features can easily attract users’ attention like large screen, goof battery, large storage but the phone is never without negatives. The bigger disadvantage of this phone is its camera which works lower than any average mobile phone. The overall performance of the phone is good keeping aside the negatives.
