ZTE or Zhongxing Telecommunication Equipment Corporation is a Chinese Systems and Equipment Manufacturer located in Shenzhen, China.  It is a worldwide manufacturer of Network elements, Network Operators Equipment, Devices, WiMax and SDN products. It also produces VAS products and acts as an OEM. ZTE Corporation is one of the top ten largest manufacturers of smartphones in the World. Launched last year, the Grand SII is a new addition to the phablet range of ZTE’s Portfolio.

Features and Specifications

The Grand SII offers flagship features and specifications for a smartphone, which is priced in the mid-range segment. There is a 5.5 inch IPS LCD Capacitive touchscreen on the device offering an astounding 16M colors along with 5 point multi-touch. OS used in SII is Android 4.3 Jelly bean, which offers handsome multi-tasking capabilities at less RAM usage. The processor powering the handset is a Quad Core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 CPU with Adreno 330 as GPU, making sure the device never stutters at anything thrown at it. The RAM is powerful enough to drive the device at 2GB while 16 GB internal memory comes inbuilt with the phone. The storage can be further expanded to 32 GB of additional storage. The Primary Rear camera is a 13 MP snapper with LED flash and many other snap features while the front camera is a 2MP Shooter for selfies and on rarity, video calls. The battery life of the smartphone is also impressive at 3100 mAh.

Design and Quality

The Design of the Grand SII to be frank is unimpressive and feels uninspired, uninspired in the sense that it has got nothing to offer that we have not yet seen. But at the same time, the phablet is surrounded by a metal frame giving it a distinct feel. The headphone jack is at the top while the bottom part has the charger as well as the mic. The power and the volume control are at the right side of the phablet for better access considering the bigger size of the phone.

OS and Tech

ZTE Grand SII is packed with Android V4.3 Jelly Bean, which offers fast multitasking and lag-free performance while at the same time, is not heavy on the RAM of the phone. There is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 Chipset in the device, ensuring the device’s capability to plow through anything and everything thrown at it. Furthermore the phablet has an always listening feature, thanks to the on-board dragon. It has some pretty sweet functions including Voice Capture.

There is a 13 MP rear snapper with an LED flash on this device which takes some pretty good photos. It has many features like Autofocus, HDR, Smile Shot, Panorama and Geo-tagging. The ZTE Grand SII is made to impress, no matter how you look at the smartphone. It scores at all the right places necessary. The Grand SII is definitely a phone to buy for a price which is too good to let go.
