Celkon Campus Crown Q40 Mobile Price in India
Celkon came out with their new phone, the Campus Crown Q40 in October 2014. It has a rear camera but not a very good front camera. It comes with a RAM of 512 MB and an internal memory of 4 GB.
Features & Specifications
The phone has a 4 inch screen with a slightly mediocre resolution of 480 * 800 pixels. The pixel density is around 233 ppi. The screen is an IPS Capacitive touchscreen. You get a 5 MP (2592 * 1944 pixels) rear camera, but sadly the front camera is not satisfactory. The camera comes with an Auto Focus feature and flash. The Q40 has a 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 quad core processor. 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal memory is what the buyer gets. The microSD slot is capable of up to 32 GB expandable memory. It comes with the latest Android Operating System v4.4 (KitKat). It comes with both 2G and 3G mobile networks. The Q40 has a proximity sensor and an accelerometer. Connectivity can be achieved through EDGE and GPRS. The phone also supports Wi-Fi hotspot, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB v2.0 and Bluetooth - v4.0.
Design and Quality
Campus Crown Q40 weighs 109.3 grams or about 3.84 oz. with the battery which is very light. The edges are smooth and the phone has a squarish facade giving it a nice aesthetic appeal. Its dimensions are 64.7mm * 125.5mm * 9.6mm. It comes in two colors – silver and grey.
OS and Tech
The Android OS this phone comes with is the latest in the market. The operating system makes your daily tasks all the more interesting. It makes it very easy to multitask. The Android 4.4.2 KitKat platform may be great, but the RAM that comes with it can lead to lag at times and can be frustrating for the user.
Camera and Multimedia
The 5 MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash is great for taking clear and crisp pictures. The primary camera also has other exciting features. It can handle panorama shots, video calling, geo-tagging, touch focus and digital zoom. The secondary camera which is 1.3 MP is not very good. Imagine having a phone without a good secondary camera at a time when selfies are so popular. If you’re interested in music, it supports MP3, eAAC and WAV. The video player supports MP4, H.264 and H.263. You also get various ringtone formats and FM radio compatibility.
Battery and Memory
The battery is a 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery which gives you a standby time of about 260 hours. If you are constantly on your phone, the phone will last you 6 hours. Thus the battery is not too impressive. Another thing that disappoints Celkon’s customers is the low RAM which is only 512 MB. The internal memory available is only 4 GB but is expandable up to 32 GB through the microSD slot.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS
- Cost - effective
Cons:
- Low Battery life
- Less RAM
- Less internal storage
- Bad secondary camera
Verdict
The Android 4.4.2 KitKat is something that users can look forward to in Celkon Campus Crown Q40. The RAM, internal storage and the 1.3 GHz processor are disappointing. A better secondary camera could have been included, but you have to remember the phone costs just Rs.4999. One has to keep in mind that this is a budget 3G phone launched by Celkon.
