Celkon Millennia Q40+

Celkon Millennia Q40+ Mobile Price in India
Celkon came out with their new phone, the Q40+ in October 2014. It has a rear camera but not a very good front camera. It is an extension to their Q40 smartphone. The new dual SIM phone has a better RAM of 1 GB and a better internal memory of 8 GB compared to 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal memory in its predecessor.
Features & Specifications
It comes with a 4 inch screen with a slightly mediocre resolution of 480 * 800 pixels. The screen is an IPS Capacitive touchscreen. You get a 5 MP rear camera, but sadly there is no good front camera. The camera comes with an Auto Focus feature and flash. The processor is a 1.3 GHz quad core processor. 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal memory is what the buyer gets. The processor, RAM and internal storage are nothing to be too happy about. The microSD slot is capable of up to 32 GB expandable memory. It comes with the latest Android Operating System. It comes with both 2G and 3G mobile networks. Connectivity can be achieved through EDGE and GPRS. The phone also supports Wi-Fi hotspot, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB v2.0 and Bluetooth - v4.0.
Design and Quality
This phone weighs 109.3 grams with the battery which is very light. The edges are smooth and the phone has a squarish facade giving it a nice aesthetic appeal. Its dimensions are 64.7mm * 125.5mm * 9.6mm.
OS and Tech
The Android OS this phone comes with is the latest in the market. The Android KitKat operating system makes your daily tasks all the more interesting. It makes it extremely easy to multitask. The Android 4.4.2 platform may be great, but the RAM that comes with it can lead to lag at times and can be frustrating for the user.
Camera and Multimedia
The Celkon Q40+ comes with a 5 MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash. The secondary camera is not good. It’s only a 1.3 MP camera. Imagine having a phone without a good secondary camera at a time when selfies are so popular. If you are a music buff, you’ll be happy to know it supports MP3, eAAC and WAV. The video player supports MP4, H.264 and H.263. You also get various ringtone formats and FM radio compatibility.
Battery and Memory
The battery is a 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery which gives you a standby time of 260 hours. If you are constantly on your phone, the phone will last you 6 hours. Thus the battery is not too impressive. Another thing that disappoints Celkon’s customers is the low RAM which is only 1 GB. The internal memory available is only 8 GB but is expandable up to 32 GB through microSD.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Android 4.4.2 KitKat
- Good value for money
Cons:
- Low Battery life
- Less RAM
- Disappointing processor
- Bad secondary camera
Verdict
The Celkon Millennia Q40+ has some exciting features whereas some things are a letdown. The Android 4.4.2 KitKat is something that users can look forward to. The RAM, processor and internal memory could have been better. A better secondary camera could have been included, but you have to remember the phone costs just Rs.5850. You can’t be too greedy. Overall for less than Rs.6000, it’s a great deal.
