This is simple Android phone having expertise from Kodak photography department and smartphone manufacturer Bullit. It has simple and basic menus which makes it’s sue very simple and a special option is there which would allow a family member or friend to take control of the phone remotely. It is cheap in price than good brands like HTC One M8 which is all metal as well as the iPhone 6 which are costly devices.

The size of the screen in this device is 5-inch having capacitive touchscreen technology with 16M colors. The processor is 1.7GHz Octa-core while the latest OS is being provided to it which is Android v4.4 KitKat. Design and Quality
There is nothing very special about this handset except this is having extremely lightweight. Its body is plastic while the front of the device is glass. This is a mid-range device but even then it is all set to attract the attention of the users. This is available in two colors white and black. Its back is having matt finish which gives nice grip to the hand. The volume buttons are towards the right hand side which are made up of plastic but are hard to press. Towards the left side are the dual SIM card slots. The back of the phone has the rear camera at the top left corner underneath it is the LED light and the speaker towards the lower end. The top of the screen is the front facing camera and a sensor while towards the bottom is the navigation keys. The top of the phone carries the 3.5mm head set jack.
OS and Tech
The phone is equipped with latest OS Android v4.4 KitKat which runs smoothly and is given full support by a decent processor. The multitasking in this handset is quite fast and thus the controlling and running of the phone is very smooth and hardly any lags have been observed.
Camera and Multimedia
Though the device carries heavy capability cameras but the quality of pictures is not very interesting. The default software for the camera even doesn’t allow anything other than the autofocus feature so most of the features of the software is not spectacular. One can take decent quality pictures but the quality must not expect high quality which is the insignia of good smartphone. The videos recorded by it are also of presentable quality which runs nicely on the large screen. The front camera takes presentable quality selfies and video calls.
Battery and Multimedia
The battery is perfect to provide all the juice and power to the handset. This battery is enough to carry the phone working the whole day. Normally all the mid-range devise have good batteries that keep them running for the whole 24hrs and the same can also be experienced in this handset. The recharging of it is also easy as the more the capacity of the battery is lower, the more quickly it will get recharged. RAM is moderate here since all other specifications are also not very powerful so 1GB RAM is enough to give it smooth performance. The built-in storage is 8GB which could be little point of dissatisfaction for the users but the expansion with the help of a microSD card is quite ample which enhances the memory up to 32GB and this much memory is quite enough to store almost everything which a user wants but execution of the apps takes place within the internal storage.
Pros and Cons
For Pros:
· Easy and simple interface
· Large 5-inch screen
· Idea of remote assistance
· Latest Android Lollipop OS
For Cons:
· Not typical Kodak camera
· Screen resolution is only 720p
· The body is made up of cheap plastic
· Very expensive for the mid-range specifications
Verdict
This handset is particularly intended for those people who are always poorly served by different phone manufacturers as per claims of the company and this is true as well. But this even doesn’t help users much and the problem still remains. It has single big interface having 12 big buttons which is a good idea as well as the remote assistance feature will also be very useful. But the build quality of the device is quite cheap which may distract users while the screen is not having much resolution along with the camera is not typical Kodak insignia. Comparing it with other mid-range devices, frankly speaking Moto G would be then better choice than Kodak IM5.
