Micromax Bolt A066 Mobile Price in India
Micromax is a respectable and large company which specializes in manufacturing smartphones. They have a reputation of delivering low-cost solutions with nice features. The Micromax Bolt A066 is yet another addition to their lineup of low-cost phones.
Features and Specifications
The Bolt AD066 has support for dual SIM cards (GSM + GSM). The display is an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. The phone has a size of 3.5 inches. Overall, the screen is not too impressive. The resolution is quite low, and the size of the screen is also quite a bit smaller than usual. This OS offers an Android 4.4.2 KitKat experience. This OS will offer you newer Android functionality, most notably quicker response times, and a general performance boost. This phone has a Dual core 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 processor. This is quite standard for phones of this price group, and will deliver a good experience. The Bolt A066 has 512MB of RAM, which is good enough. There is 4 GB of internal storage, although this is expandable with MicroSD up to 32 GB. The primary camera is 2MP, while the secondary company is .3MP. This isn’t a fantastic camera solution, but it should be good enough. The battery has a capacity of 1300mAh, and is Li-Ion technology. It’s rated for 6 hours talk time, and 600 hours of standby time. The connectivity is decent, with WIFI, USB connectivity, and Bluetooth.
Design and Quality
The design of this phone is somewhat unique, with the interestingly textured bottom bar. It has somewhat of a randomized checkerboard pattern on it with lighter sections and darker sections. The rest of the phone is quite standard, with three off-screen touch responsive navigational buttons. The phone comes in 5 colors: teal, navy blue, red, white, and black; this offers a good amount of customization. The quality is what one should expect from a phone of this price point. It’s made of standard materials, nothing fancy, but it does the job. If you are looking for something a bit fancier, the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 is a good choice.
OS and Tech
Android 4.4.2, KitKat ships with this phone, and it provides a nice OS experience. KitKat brought some performance benefits over previous operating systems. Of course, you will also gain access to the vast Android app store and other software functionality.
Camera and Multimedia
With just a 2MP primary camera and a .3MP secondary camera, you won’t be taking any fantastic pictures with this device. The camera isn’t good, but you might be able to take some decent photos which are good enough to share with friends. The phone comes with an FM radio, video player, and music player.
Battery and Memory
The battery’s capacity of 1300 mAh, which is rated for 6 hours of talk time and 160 hours of standby time. That’s not very great, and you will have to charge this every night without a doubt. If your usage patterns are high, you might not make it through the day. As far as memory is concerned, there is 4GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 32GB. There is 512MB of RAM, which is decent but nothing special.
Pros and Cons
For Pros:
· Extremely low cost
· Dual SIM support
· Good connectivity
· SD Card expandability
· Connectivity
For Cons:
· The screen is quite poor
· Battery has low capacity
· Camera is substandard
Verdict
This phone is a good pick if you like the design, don’t want to pay a high cost for a decent phone, and aren’t a performance enthusiast. The Micromax Bolt A066 is a decent phone for the price point, but that’s really the only thing which makes this a viable purchase. The design is also a bonus. If you like the accent bar on the bottom of this phone, you might also like the Nokia Asha 305.
