Spice Mobiles Ltd. is an Indian brand that designs and manufactures Apps, phones, smartphones, tablet computers and consumer electronics headquartered in Noida in Delhi NCR, India. Since entering the handset market through the entry level segment, they have made rapid and constant progress in the country challenging global leaders through their economic yet feature rich phones. Spice group has produced numerous Android smartphones since 2013 in their stellar series. The Series is known for producing price efficient smartphones with impressive features. The Stellar Mi-430 is a fine addition to their tally of entry level smartphones in the market.

Features and Specifications

For an entry level smartphone, the Stellar Mi-430 has Dual SIM support with 3G. Addition of 3G into the smartphone is a smart move by the company, which separates the phone from other phones in the same segment. The device has a 4 inch WVGA display. The phone is loaded with Android 4.4 KitKat, which is a relatively fast and powerful OS. A 1 GHz processor along with 2 GB internal memory is provided with the phone with support for the external Micro SD card up to 32 GB. The smartphone has dual camera- the rear camera is a 2 MP shooter with flash. A secondary camera of 1.3 MP is present at the front for video calling.

Design and Quality

It is available in two colors-Black and White, both look good on the phone and the phone itself is plain but alluring. The edges of the phone are slightly curved and it fits naturally in the hands. The back of the phone is made with hard plastic cover that does not feel cheap, rather it is quite sturdy.

OS and Tech

The handset is packed with the relatively newer OS of Android v4.4. There is also a 1 GHz processor given in the function to handle the Android OS, which the processor does pretty well. The Mi-430 is by no means a performer, but it is no slouch either and handles basic tasks like texting, watching movies, surfing and downloading or even playing games easily. The device supports all the basic android functions like Tethering, Hotspot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and even 3G.

The Camera provided in the phone is a 2 MP rear shooter with flash. Considering the price of the phone, the camera takes okay pictures in the daylight. The device has 256 MB of RAM along with 2 GB of internal storage which allows users to store and use apps and games to some extent without any noticeable lag. Though for people who rely on heavy storage, there is an option for external Micro SD card support upto 32 GB sating their needs.

The Spice Stellar Mi-430 is a great value for money smartphone. Considering the price range of the device, the phone is nicely packed and hits at the right places. Tough competition is expected from Lava Iris 465, which is similarly priced and offers great value for money. The mi-430 is an entry level smartphone with basic features to last.
