Karbonn Elegance E3
Karbonn Elegance E3 Mobile Price in India
The Karbonn Elegance E3 comes off as an incredibly stylish and well-manufactured phone. Although it’s extremely cheap, and it doesn’t contain any cutting-edge technology, the design is certainly the main selling point of this phone. Karbonn is a massive Indian phone manufacturer. They are known for taking an otherwise ordinary phone and turning it into something very hot with a slick design. That’s how they win customers, and this phone is no exception.
Features and Specifications
The Karbonn Elegance E3 has support for dual SIM configuration (GSM + GSM). The screen is a mere 240 x 320 pixels. While this doesn’t sound like much, since the physical size of the screen is so small, it actually works out quite well. Of course, the text isn’t super sharp and clear, but it does the job. The OS is proprietary, so you will not be able to experience the robust functionality of a Windows, Android, or iOS phone. The processor is unknown, and it really doesn’t matter for devices like these because they require such little processing power. There is no internal memory out of the box, but you can use a microSD card to get potentially 16 GB of memory. The battery has a capacity of 1800 mAh, which is quite nice, especially in a phone which is going to consume as little power as this. The connectivity features are kind of lacking, with no support for Wi-Fi. However, there is support for GPRS, WAP, and Bluetooth. There is no support for 3G networks, and the phone operates at GSM 900/1800MHz frequencies.
Design and Quality
The design is where this phone really comes in strong. Although the specs are nothing spectacular, it looks brilliant and very high-class, similarly to the Nokia 130. There is a very nice gold bar at the bottom of the phone which acts as a nice attention-drawing accent. Another great aspect of this phone is the top bar, which is non-glossy, and really pops out despite it having the same color as the rest of the phone. There is a camera in the back in the top right.
OS and Tech
The OS is proprietary, so it’s nothing too exciting, and it doesn’t feature fantastic software functionality such as the Android app store, for example. However, there is some functionality on this phone which is quite nice. This includes a torch, multi-language support, mobile tracker, call recording, games, alarm clock, calendar, and a calculator.
Camera and Multimedia
The primary camera is 1.3MP, so it’s a lot nicer than a standard VGA camera, and that shouldn’t be taken for granted. The camera supports standard detail video recording and digital zoom. There is an included music player and FM radio.
Battery and Memory
With a capacity of 1800 mAh, this battery should last you more than a day if you are just a casual user. There has not been any kind of benchmarking for this phone, but it can be assumed that this device will probably last around 5-6 hours of talk time. The internal storage is nonexistent, but thankfully, you can insert a microSD card to expand the memory by up to 16GB.
Pros and Cons
For Pros:
· Capable battery
· Fantastic design
· Great price
· Camera had dual LED flash
· microSD support
· Dual SIM support
For Cons:
· The display isn’t anything special
· No internal memory
· No 3G support
Verdict
If you’re looking for a very low-cost basic phone which still retains that premium look and feel, this is a good candidate. If you are fine with compromising a nice screen, software functionality of a smartphone, and miscellaneous details for a very pretty, basic device, this is great. Also consider the Nokia 108 for these kinds of tradeoff.
