Xiaomi Mi 4 64GB Mobile Price in India
Xiaomi Inc. is a privately owned Chinese electronics company located in Beijing, China. Started as a technology start-up, the brand has since then developed into the world's 3rd largest smartphone brand. Xiaomi sells smartphones, mobile apps and even consumer electronics. Xiaomi has gained a huge market share in the smartphone business since its original launch in 2011. It is also now the largest vendor in the world’s biggest smartphone market, China after beating Samsung in Q4 2014 becoming the world’s most valuable technology start-up at US46$billion. The phones launched by Xiaomi are not what many people will consider authentic and original, but the company capitalizes in its brilliant execution to put things forward resulting in some of the most stunning phones at lower costs. The Company’s 2014 flagship, the Mi 4 certainly holds the title of the “Chinese Apple” pretty well.
Features and Specifications
Xiaomi Mi 4 has a Full HD screen of 1920x1080 pixels at 441 ppi that delivers rock solid viewing angles and gives off premium color replication expected from a flagship. The phone comes with Android 4.4.3 OS tweaked with the famous MIUI, which is a heavily customizable UI, heavily based on the iOS 7. Providing juice to the phone is a 2.5 GHz Quad core Snapdragon 801, which is a latest processor from the house of Qualcomm ensuring smooth and flawless multi-tasking. Mi 4 has 3 GB of RAM along with internal storage options of 16/64 GB. There is no external memory support with the device. The primary rear camera is a 13 MP shooter with a Sony sensor which takes excellent shots and has a quick focus response. 4K UHD recording is also supported by the rear camera. The secondary camera is an 8 MP capable of 1080p recording.
Design and Quality
The build quality of the phone can be described in one word- Stunning. Many people may compare it to Apple’s iPhone 4S in terms of design, which may be true to some extent, but there are distinct elements which make the Mi 4 different. Instead of leaving the back plastic exposed, the steel band protects the edges from being chipped. The rear is made from high quality plastic which can be changed using a suction cap to different styles. Despite the plastic rear, the phone has a premium feel to it like devices from Apple. The power and volume buttons are present at the right, so one handed operations are easily plausible.
OS and Tech
Mi 4 is shipped with MIUI 5 based on Android 4.4.3 but can be easily upgraded to MIUI 6 which is heavily based on Apple’s iOS 7 taking the Chinese Apple cloning further. MIUI is certainly an interesting and nippy UI where there is a perfect blend between performance, customizability and uniqueness. The Adreno 330 with the 801 processor ensures fast, Premium multi-tasking between strenuous apps and games.
Camera and Multimedia
The Camera is equally premium and impressive as the handset itself. The Sony made camera takes stunning day light shots which offer excellent picture quality and quick focus recalibration. The rear shooter is also capable of shooting ultra 4K video of impressive quality under good conditions and considering the price of the Mi 4, is a great addition by Xiaomi. The Front Camera is just as good as well with 1080p support. The device supports all the latest multimedia features including LTE support, though LTE may be limited only to China right now.
Battery and Memory
This is where the Mi 4 beats all its rivals’ big time. The device is powered by a 3080 mAh non-removable battery. But the device even when stressed, goes well over 48 hours, which is actually pretty impressive considering the packed smartphone it is. The 3 GB of RAM along with 16/64 GB internal storage options make the smartphone flawless and completely lag free in all areas. Although the lack of an external MicroSD card may disappoint some.
