It is the first brand to manufacture Intel chip based smartphones, which are widely acclaimed for its performance and features. The Iris 465 is also a smartphone by Lava International, targeting customers looking for a decent budget smartphone.
Features and Specifications
For a budget smartphone, the Iris 465 has pretty decent features. The handset supports Dual SIM with 3G support and has a TFT Capacitive touchscreen of 4.5 inches, which supports Multi-touch. The screen is actually impressive and gives good color output. The OS used in it is surprisingly Android OS 4.4.2 KitKat which is the latest OS, usually provided in mid range smartphones. A dual-core 1.3 GHz processor comes with the phone along with 512 MB of RAM. The internal memory provided in the smartphone is 4 GB along with an external Micro SD card support for 32 GB. The Primary rear camera is 3.15 MP which comes with an LED Flash while the secondary camera is a VGA. The battery life is actually decent at 1750 mAh and the device has all the basic connectivity features of a smartphone. There is also a support for 21 regional languages in the smartphone to help overcome the barrier.
Design and Quality
The Design of the phone is actually pretty solid. It is available in two colors – Black and White, both of them look nice and natural with the phone. Although being a budget phone, the build quality of the phone is sturdy and the phone feels nice in the hands with its decent size and fits perfectly. The back is made from hard plastic which, although not free from smudges does not make the device slippery. Power button along with the volume control is present at the right side of the phone making it easier to access.
OS and Tech
The handset is packed with the latest and relatively new OS, Android 4.4.2 KitKat along with a dual core 1.3 GHz processor to make sure of decent performance in all areas. Another feature worth mentioning in the smartphone is the 21 regional languages support which includes Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Oriya, Bengali among many others which making it a smartphone that overcomes language barrier.
Camera and Multimedia
The smartphone comes with a 3.2 megapixel rear camera which frankly does not have anything that makes it stand out. It has features like face recognition, smile detection, self timer and panorama mode. Despite that, in daylight it takes okay pictures, which is a plus coming from a budget smartphone. There is also a 0.3 MP VGA camera in the front. Being a smartphone, it has all the basic multimedia features like FM radio, mp3 player, video player, editor among many.

The battery life of the phone is 1750 mAh, with claims by the company of about 24 hours of 2G talk time and about 11 hours of 3G talk time. For a budget handset, the battery holds well and lasts a day under normal usage. 512 MB of RAM with Android 4.4 is a nice addition to the phone. 4 GB of internal memory is provided with the phone which is sufficient along with expandable external memory storage of 32 GB.

The device is a threat to other budget smartphones like Micromax Unite 2, which also has 21 regional language support and costs much more than the Lava Iris 465. Available for almost 4K, the budget smartphone from Lava surely packs a decent punch for being a budget phone with quality features that do score where required.
