Making an entry level smartphone for any manufacturer is pretty difficult, as they have to keep a perfect balance between price, features and quality. Videocon is no stranger to this end of the market and is pretty well known for making good entry level smartphones that offer good specifications at a pocket friendly price. Videocon’s Infinium Z45 Nova+ packed with amazing features for the price range is another example of Videocon’s ingenuity. This smartphone comes loaded with Quad Core processor, good cameras and a good sizeable touchscreen.
Features and Specifications:
The Videocon Infinium Z45 Nova+ is equipped with a 4 1/2 inch capacitive touch screen which supports multiple touch input. The screens resolution 480x854 pixels and does provide a very clear picture quality. The smartphone has a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and has Mali 400 GPU. Whereas the ram of the smart phone is a respectable 1 GB and the ROM is 8 Gigabytes which is further expandable to 32 Gigabytes with the aid of the micro SD card slot. The phone has dual sim capabilities and both Sims can run on 2 G and 3 G networks. Other connectivity options include WIFI, Bluetooth and micro USB. The cameras of the phone are pretty good with the primary camera a 5 megapixels camera and the secondary camera being a 2 megapixels camera.
Design and Quality:
The Smartphone’s design is very minimalistic, with the phone being in a rectangular shape and is just available in black color. Upfront you notice the 4.5 inch touchscreen with the android style capacitive touch sensitive buttons under it. The ear piece is right above the screen and towards it left side we see the sensors and the 2 megapixels secondary camera. Towards the right hand side of the phone we see the power button on the top and the volume rocker under it, the 3.5 mm audio jack is housed on top of the phone. On the backside of the phone you’ll notice that the back cover is rather thin and feels very plastic and has a matte finish. The design on the back side is also very minimalistic with the camera and led on top and the Videocon monogram very discretely printed. The rest of the backside is rather empty with the speaker grill at the bottom of the back cover. All in all it is just a very average design.
OS and Tech:
The Z45 Nova comes preloaded with android 4.4.2 KitKat and joys of joys it can also be updated to Lollipop. Which will bring this phone more multitask functionalities and an even less memory consuming OS. The UI is stock android and this is the reason why this phone is upgradeable to Android Lollipop.
Camera and Multimedia:
The smartphone is among the best smartphone in the market when it comes to delivering high end multimedia performance. This phone is smartphone is equipped with a 5 megapixel primary camera and 2 megapixels secondary camera upfront. The built in camera features includes HDR, Panorama, auto focus and a self-timer. The phone can record full HD videos though cannot perform quite well when it comes to playing back those full HD videos. Otherwise the screen is able perform pretty neatly, in bright sunlight the content on the screen is easily viewable and the viewing angles are also pretty good on this device.
Battery and Memory:
The Z45 Nova comes loaded with an 1800 mAh battery which on a single charge can last up to 14 15 hours on normal average usage with internet connectivity. The phone built in memory is 8 GB which can later be increased 32 GG, leaving you with ample space for your data, apps, multimedia.

The Verdict:
Apart from the looks and quality of the phones exterior, the Videocon Infinium Z45 Nova+ is a pretty desirable mobile phone. In its price range the smartphone that Motorola and Samsung has to offer have a dual core processor and their cameras aren’t that up to the mark. The phone loses points for its average design but it wins a lot of points when it comes to delivering superior features and an inferior price.
