Gionee CTRL V6L Mobile Price in India
Gionee is well known for its sleek and stylish phones that excel not only in looks but in fact their smartphones perform as good as they look. Gionee’s V series smartphones are the phones that belong to upper mid-range prices of the smartphones was a Quad Core smart phone which excelled the Samsung’s smart phones which cost much more than it does. The CTRL V6L is yet no exception from the Gionee tradition, the phone looks good and is equipped very decently with a Quad Core processor, 1 GB ram and LTE connectivity.
Features and Specifications:
The Gionee CTRL V6 comes loaded with a 5inch capacitive touchscreenwith resolution of 480x800, which definitely isn’t the best screen in the price range as the Galaxy Grand offers a full HD screen more or less in this price range. The phone is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core processor which then again isn’t the best processor out there since the Micromax Yu Yureka offers an octacore processor at almost half the price. Further on the Gionee CTRL V6 has a 1 GB ram and internal storage of 8 GB but the surprising thing about this phone is that the micro SD card can hold a card of up to 128 GB which is more than ample space for your data, apps, pictures, videos and all. The phone has a dual sim configuration and runs not only on 3 G and 2 G networks, but it also runs on 4 G and this is one of the major upgrade that Gionee made into V5 to form the V6.The primary of the phone is an 8 megapixels camera whereas the secondary camera is a 5 megapixels camera.
Design and Quality:
The V6 is enclosed in a very desirable gloss finished body, looking from the front you first of all notice the 5inch touchscreen with the capacitive navigation keys below it. The phone is pretty wide and at just 6.9 mm thick can be hard to handle in one hand, but who cares, the phone really is attractive. Further on, on top of the screen we see the earpiece appearing out of the glass, with a couple of sensors right next to it and the 5 megapixels camera can also be seen peeking out from underneath the glass. The volume rocker and the power button, just like all the Gionee smartphones is placed on to the right side of the phone. The 3.5mm audio jack is located on the top of the phone and the micro USB port is housed at the bottom side of the phone. Moving towards the back the Gionee CTRL V6 has a plastic gloss finished back cover, where you will find the 8 megapixel primary camera at the top left corner along with the LED flash. The loudspeaker is placed under two pores at the bottom of the back cover. The phone really does look good and the curved corners give this phone a very modern look and unlike many other smartphones in the market it doesn’t look like a brick chiseled down in thickness.
OS and Tech:
The smartphone comes loaded with Android KitKat, the UI has been tweaked in a minimal way and has been kept very simple and easy to use and resembles the interface of a typical Gionee smartphone. But with many smartphones now coming with Lollipop, this phone won’t be able to match the multitasking capabilities of those smartphones.
Camera and Multimedia:
The Gionee CTRL V6 is truly meant to be a multimedia phone, it has an 8 megapixel primary with HD recording, the camera functions include face detection, HDR, geotagging and touch to focus. The front shooter is respectable 5 megapixel sensor, so you’ll be busy taking a lot of selfies. The screen of the phone can also HD videos and has a rather nice display quality, with good viewing angles and it can give a sharp picture even in sunlight.
Battery and Memory:
The smartphone has 1950 mAh Li-ion battery and with this battery the phone can give up to 16.6 hours of talk time which talking in daily usage can last you through a full day on single charge. Memory is not an issue with this phone as in the internal memory of the phone is at 8 GB and micro SD slot can contain a card of up to a hefty 128 GB, which you will be needing since you’ll be taking a lot of selfies with the 5 megapixels primary camera.
Pros and Cons:
For Pros:
· 128 GB micro SD card slot
· 4 G connectivity
· Good Design
· Good Primary and Secondary Camera
For Cons:
· A bit overpriced
· Doesn’t have Android Lollipop as standard
· Low performance figure for the price range hence overpriced
Verdict:
All in all the Gionee is good smartphone, it has enough storage for your data, supports LTE, it has nice cameras and has a very nice design. But still all of these still don’t justify the phone being overpriced as the Micromax YU Yureka which has all of these factors that make the V6 so good and costs a noticeable amount less.
