Right now it is an ongoing market trend to test new devices and explore what those gadgets have in store for the users. Most of the smart phone users from India are looking for a reliable handset with lots of feature at an attractive price tag. So budding phone companies are extremely focused to make feature rich phones at cheaper prices. Already tech giants like Samsung Mobiles are getting far behind in the race, and manufacturers like Gionee Mobiles, Micromax Mobiles and Xiaomi Mobiles are leading the race. Another growing company is Rage, which is extremely new to the mobile phone market but has a promising future ahead. Rage Mobiles are becoming quite popular in the Indian market because of their cheap, reliable and attractive handsets. Recently Rage launched a new phone namely the Rage OPS 45Q, targeting the entry level smart phone market, which features a good specification and an attractive look for an affordable price. Please continue reading to know more about this smart phone and have a clear idea what it is going to offer you.
Features & Specifications
Rage is offering quite a lot of features for this price tag for the modern day smart phone users. The phone comes with a 4.5" capacitive touch screen which supports up to 5 fingers multi-touch. The screen has a resolution of 480x960 pixels which is quite okay for an entry level smart phone. Like Rage OPS 50QX this phone also features an 8MP rear camera. An LED flash is also present beside the camera for low light photography. The phone is equipped with a 2MP front facing camera for taking selfies and participating in video calls. The phone has an internal storage space of 4GB from which only 1.24GB is available to the user. Rage OPS 45Q features a microSD card slot which gives you the ability to expand the storage space up to 32GB. The phone contains a powerful 1GB RAM. The phone comes with a 1.3 GHz quad core processor which is good for blazing fast performance and smooth playbacks. It is a little shocking that the phone is loaded with Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean. A 1500 mAh battery pack provides the power to run this phone which is pretty common in phones in this price range. The phone features G sensor, Gesture sensor and proximity sensor and comes with dual sim connectivity option. Rage OPS 45Q also have features like micro-USB, A-GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, auto call recorder etc.
Design and Quality
The design of Rage OPS 45Q is really great and it can be said that anyone will fall in love with the handset after seeing its look. The phone offers a 4.5" screen which is optimal for everyday use and carry. The dimensions of the phone are as follows; 132 x 66.3 x 7.95 mm. The phone weighs around 114 gm which makes it one of the lightest smart phones available in the market (not as light as XOLO Q900s or Gionee Elife S5.1). The phone can be carried around effortlessly as it weighs very less and it can be stuffed in any pocket. The back cover of the phone has leather texture which makes the phone look real classy and the rounded corners sprinkles a bit of sophistication in its design. Overall the phone has a smooth appearance which will make you fall for it head over heels.
OS and Tech
As mentioned above the phone has Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean loaded, which is a little old considering the newest version is Android v5.0 Lollipop. But still the 1.3 GHz quad core processor delivers blazing fast and up-to-the-mark performance as expected. The quad core processor is good enough to handle gaming, movie playback, general works and netsurfing efficiently. Apart from the outdated version of Android, the handset provides brilliant features at a mere price.
Camera and Multimedia
The phone features an 8 MP camera at the rear which is stuffed with features like face detection and smile detection. The camera works great in day light and can take good enough images. Although there is an LED flash present for night time or low light photography, the images clicked at night are not that good. The camera also lacks features like auto-focus or even touch-focusing. There is a front facing 2 MP camera on the phone for video calls and taking selfies. Although the quality is not good, it is satisfactory for a smart phone of this price range. The screen of this smart phone is 480x960 pixels QHD, which is of a little lower resolution. So video playbacks will not be up-to-the-mark, and may suffer from lack of clarity and sharpness.
Battery and Memory
The phone is rigged with a 1500 mAh battery which does not take a long time to drain out. So you will need to charge the phone around 2-3 times a day. Still Rage claims that the battery is good enough for a talk-time of up to 7 hours and standby time up to 150 hours. In my opinion the major drawback of this smart phone is its low capacity battery. The internal storage is 4 GB from which only 1.24 GB can be used by the owner, and the storage is expandable up to 32 GB. The phone is equipped with a 1 GB RAM which promises faster and more flawless performance.
Pros and Cons
Pros
· Brilliant overall features
· Sophisticated and classy design
· Great processor
· Good RAM
· Low affordable price
Cons
· Low capacity battery
· Average level camera with low resolution
Verdict
Rage has tried its best to put together a feature rich smart phone in an affordable price range. Although the phone lacks a bit in the multimedia section, it is a great handset to go with. If you compare it with its main competitors like Intex Aqua Star II, Xolo Q1200, Spice Stellar 520 there are only a few minor differences within them. So if you have a tight budget and are looking for an overall good smart phone, then Rage OPS 45Q is for you.
