The Karbonn Alfa A120 is a dual SIM smart phone featuring almost the same set of configuration as Lava Mobile's latest the Lava Iris X1 Atom. Still unlike Lava Iris X1 Atom, this phone features a 4.5" IPS LCD display. The phone is powered by a 1.3 GHz Dual core processor, which is expected to give rocking performance. Due to the absence of a dedicated graphics processing unit, the display has a lower resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. But this kind of resolution is pretty common in this price segment. The phone runs on Android v4.4 KitKat, and Lava Iris X1 Atom plays an upper hand by employing an Android v5.0 Lollipop OS update. This handset is equipped with a 5 MP rear camera with capability to take good quality images. The camera features an LED flash to assist it in low light. Still the camera lacks auto focus and touch focusing ability and relies solely on daylight to take good quality images. The front facing 0.3 MP VGA camera is ideal for taking selfies and participating in video chat sessions. Images taken in the night by both cameras suffer from lack of clarity. The phone is equipped with a 512 MB RAM. The RAM might not be enough to handle heavy tasks, but will be enough to provide an up-to-the-mark performance. Design and Quality

The Karbonn Alfa A120 features round edges and a sleek look that will make anyone fall for it. The looks are really great and build quality is awesome. The handset is made to last a long time. The handset features touch buttons underneath the display and have side buttons for volume control and screen lock. Overall the handset is pretty good design wise.

OS and Tech

This handset comes with Android v4.4 KitKat which is a little disappointing since I expected it to support Android v5.0 Lollipop. But the handset will not let you down and its 1.3 GHz Dual core processor will be able to deliver solid performance. The phone is equipped with newest technologies to make it lightning fast in terms of process handling.

Camera and Multimedia

The Karbonn Alfa A120 is equipped with a 5 MP rear camera with an LED flash present. The camera is capable of taking good quality images but the image quality degrades in low light. The camera also supports high quality video recording. The front 0.3 MP VGA camera can be used to take selfies and make video calls. The camera quality is not that good but you cannot expect better quality in this price range. The 4.7" IPS display has 480 x 854 pixels resolution but due to having good color depth the picture quality is pretty good and sharp.

The smart phone has a 3000mAh battery pack to power it. We are very optimistic about the battery pack. It has a talk time of 18 hours and standby time of 240 hours, which is just mind blowing. This great capacity battery itself is a deal maker. Moreover the phone has 512 MB RAM which will be enough to handle low to medium workloads. The ROM capacity is 4 GB and the memory space can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card.
