Microsoft Lumia 540 Dual SIM Mobile Price in India
Microsoft has been one of those mobile phone manufacturers who like to take their time when it comes to innovation of new devices. But that surely doesn’t means that the company lacks the integrity of bringing out quality products out in the market. Yes, surely many of the manufacturers have now moved on to Android, but none of them allow such good media sharing as the Microsoft Windows OS. This is purely because of the fact that almost 90% of personal computers have Windows OS and having the same OS in ones smartphone allows for easier use and easier multimedia sharing. The Microsoft Lumia 540 is new addition to the Windows OS line of smartphones. The device is loaded with Windows Phone 8.1 OS and has a 1.2 GHz quad core processor.
Features and Specifications:
The Lumia 540 comes loaded with a massive 5 inch display. The screen of this Lumia is an IPS capacitive touchscreen and has a resolution of 720x1280 pixels and a pixel density of 294 pixels per inch. The Lumia 540 has a 1.2 GHz quad core processor and has a 1 Gigabyte ram and 8 GB rom, but if the 8 GB storage is not enough, you may expand the memory by up to a massive 128 GB with the aid of the micro SD card slot. The Lumia 540 has the ability to run two Sims at the same time and can run on 3G networks. The smartphone is loaded with all the features you can expect from a respectable device. Major feature include WIFI, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, radio and Micro USB connectivity. The OS of the phone is Microsoft Windows mobile OS version 8.1 and to top it all of the phones camera department is also pretty strong. The primary camera is an 8 megapixels sensor and a secondary camera is a 5 megapixels wide angle unit. Moving on the battery of the device, it comes loaded with a 2200 mAh battery.
Design and Quality:
Almost all the Lumia series of smartphones have a felt a bit plastic and the back covers a bit flimsy when you take them off. The 540 is yet no exception with the plastic back cover feeling a bit cheap. Upfront you have the massive 5inch touch screen with the side sills being encased under the glass covering so isn’t there much to see if the phone is not under use. The navigation keys have also been integrated in the screen. Above the screen we have the Microsoft monogram. On the right hand side we have the power button and the volume rocker whereas the on the top hand side of the device we have the 3.5mm audio jack. The Lumia 540 is available with different colored back covers ranging from blue to white making it total of 4 options available for the colors. The back side is also rather conventional, with camera at the Microsoft monogram printed in landscape. The rest of the back side is rather empty except for the speaker slit which is located on the bottom end of the back side.
OS and Tech:
The Microsoft Lumia 540 comes with Windows mobile OS 8.1, it is a quirky UI and movement is pretty fluid. Multitasking is also pretty easy on the device. Softwares like Microsoft Office only make life easier with the Lumia 540. Only drawback of the windows OS is the small app store and the little apps that are present there are mostly paid, so you won’t be playing a lot of games or you won’t be snap chatting anyone anytime soon.
Camera and Multimedia:
The Microsoft Lumia 540 comes loaded with an 8 megapixels camera with LED flash at the back and upfront we have a 5 megapixels secondary camera. The camera quality of the device is pretty outstanding especially when it comes to the secondary camera it is one of the best camera for its class. But the video quality is a tad disappointing. But on the other hand the screen of the device is pretty good though not as good as the equivalent Samsung or Sony, it seemed to do the job just fine with some decent viewing angles.
Battery and Memory:
The Lumia 540 comes loaded with a massive 2200 mAh battery which can give up to 26 hours of talk time. On a single charge the phone is able to last well over two days with normal usage. The internal memory of the smartphone is rather low with 8 GB and the OS takes the most of that memory but the micro SD card slot is at rescue for that as it can house a card of up to 128 GB.
Pros and Cons:
For Pros:
· Big Screen
· Good Battery
· Good camera quality
For Cons:
· Low ROM
· Average video quality
· Ordinary display
Verdict:
The Microsoft Lumia 540 is definitely a very promising device, but in a market which is dominated by Android smartphones it is pretty challenging for the 540 gain any success. Contenders like Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime are a bit better if you are interested in a better display and a camera, but if you are interested in a fairly different UI Microsoft Lumia 540 is a definite YES.
